Hey, this is rant day…

and, have I whined lately about not having a washer and dryer since I sold my home and moved here?  Whine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Said  it before, I will say it again, I miss my washer, dryer, water softener and garage.  But most of all I miss my washer and dryer.  And why am I whining about this today.  Well, in the original blogging days, Wednesday was the official rant day where we unloaded all of our rants on our friends.  Feel free to unload anything bothering you on my post today.  I will read and sympathize.

I share the laundry facilities here with 3 neighbors.  I was always having a problem wanting to do laundry and finding the laundry room occupied.  So, on days I wanted to do laundry I would set the alarm for 6AM and get my laundry done before anyone else could get in there.  This morning I found a note on the washer saying it is not doing the last spin.  This will mean a trip to the Laundromat tomorrow if it is not fixed.  But, hey, if this was the least of my worries I think I would do a summersault.

I have started another blog, mostly for something to do, but to deal with something that is facing a lot of us.  http://mamade1.blogspot.com/.  I would love for you to visit me if you like and for my first follower I have a big hug!!  lol

And now, to really begin, this, another day I have been granted.

Stay  safe and be happy!!

Beth

  6. It's a pain to go to the laundromat, and I'm so THANKFUL I have a washer and dryer. No real rants today. Made the mistake of leaving the dog dishes outside last night---had to hunt them down this morning---my own fault! No rants for me today. I'm just glad to be alive and have my health and wonderful family around me! Enjoy the day!

  10. I can imagine the laundry being a chore especially if you had your own washer and dryer before. I've not been to a laundromat since we visited Japan some years ago and don't really seek to start that again any time soon. You started a new blog huh? Well, I'll have to head on over!

  11. I don't have any ranks today. But I would sure miss my washer and dryer.

  12. Washer & dryer is such a luxury that is never understood until you are having to make arrangements to get the laundry done outside of the "luxury" of your home ugh! I like that rant and whine day concept following on wed.I did not know that but I got all my whining out on Monday Boy that was a bummer of a day for at least 2 hrs LOL popping over to check out the new blog woohoo!!

  13. i would understand your dismay at losing your own w&d. it allows you to do other things while the laundry is getting done. big sigh for you.

  15. I've done the laundromat thing many, many times, had my own in a house (basement) a couple times, shlepped down halls and up & down stairs with laundry in apartments, but this is the very first apartment where I have a washer and dryer right here in my apartment--and I LOVE IT! I have to rent them because I couldn't afford to buy my own, but then when anything goes wrong it's their problem, so that's not so bad. I know I would really whine if I moved and didn't have the washer and dryer right there next time. I am now spoiled and creakier and don't want to go back!! I've been there and I feel for you. ;)

  16. I feel your pain. So many years, I had to take my laundry to the central hub. Sometimes clothes would get stolen or the washers were totally disgusting because pigs lived around us! And then there was the walk....for example, I'd wait until evening to do the laundry because it would be too hot to do in the middle of the afternoon. Yuck! At first I thought you still did your laundry by hand. That isn't fun at all!!! I feel your pain.

  18. I raised my family of 8 always having a washer and in later years a drier too. Now, for the past 16 years I have had neither. There are only two of us in a small place that couldn't accommodate one if I bought it, so......we go to the town laundromat once every 7-10 days. I love summertime because I can hang outdoors. It isn't so bad. We have to watch out for the week after the fair because sometimes horse and cow blankets are done there in the big boys, but I usually don't use the big boys. The natural gas drillers are now starting to go there now and I don't like that at all. Oh well......Was that a rant? kinda/sorta

  21. I guess I have no complaints at the moment, but ask me again tomorrow! ha! Sorry you have to go to the laundromat. I did that when we were first married, and it is a nuisance.

  25. I so can sympathize - I never want to enter a Laundromat again. I could live without a dryer, maybe (I love the smell of laundry dried in the open air), but not without a washer in my own house.

  26. Even though there is only little me, I'd be lost without my washing machine, I don't use the dryer as the electric is too pricey, I get it outside or indoors overnight, no problem, I'd hat to have to share. I was married three years befoer we could afford a washer, and I was jumping for joy when I eventually got one. My rant to-day.... three times I put the washing out and three times it rained. but fourth time I was lucky, so it's only a half rant LOL. Keep well.

  27. See... if you lived with me, you would have a washer and dryer, water softener... just no garage. Getting back to the washer and dryer, how much would you charge per load to do mine? Just thought I would ask. Seems only fair that if I supply the washer and dryer and you have wash to do anyways... well... I think you know where I am going with this. :) None the less, hope they get your washer fixed sooner than later.

By the way... we all need to whine, bitch, piss and moan every now and then. I certainly do, not just on Wednesdays either.
