If early voting is any indication…

I think there will be a large turn out at the polls on November 6.  Yesterday I went to vote right at 8:30 AM when the circuit clerk’s office opened.  There was a long line of voting booths set up.  By the time I finished voting (5 minutes) I counted 11 people voting and more coming in.

The rain has stopped and it is supposed to be sunny and 81 degrees.  Now how is that  for 24 October 2012?  Rain coming through with a cold front tomorrow and dropping the temps to the 30s tomorrow night.

This flip flopping weather is not conducive to good health.  I am glad I got my flu shot early.

I need to get started on some cleaning.  That seems to be never ending.

Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Isn't it amazing how close we live and how different our weather is ?? We are 80 today and dipping into the 60's tomorrow. But our night time temps are supposed to stay in the high 40's.

I'll take it. But I'm with you about this crazy weather...I hurt everywhere. Thank goodness I have a chiro appt this morning!

  2. One more summerlike day here they claim and the a 20 point drop. Really don't like that thought, but we deal with what we have.

  3. Interesting experience you had with early voting...

Oh dear! Those crazy shifts in weather are not pleasant at all. I am on my echinacea routine through spring. Enjoy the warmth!

  6. We voted and had our flu shots on the same day! It is good to have that done.

We are having a gorgeous day here! Things are predicted to change by the week-end, however, with much cooler temperatures expected to move to our area.

    Have a good Wednesday, Beth.

  7. My mom and aunt were going to go vote this morning. We are forecasted to have a cold front come in on Friday and it's supposedly going to freeze Friday night. I think they will raise the temp by then. lol

  8. I'm glad you got your voting done, we did too and now it's no longer in our hands. It got quite cold here, right now it's only 30 degrees so I may go and get some frost pics. I hope to have a flu free year...I wish that for all of us! Have a great day my friend.

  13. Yes the voting every where is going to be a nightmare. But its something we must do if we want to get our Country back.
So, I can deal with the long lines. Early voting starts for us on the 27th.

  16. I am glad to know that people are getting out and voting. It is so important. As a woman, I have done a lot of studying into suffrage and how hard our grandmothers worked for our right to vote. I tell women all the time that I don't care who you vote for, just vote!

  17. Early voting started here on MOnday but I haven't done it yet. Your fruitcakes do look good. Reading your blog about sleepless nights sure hit home. You're right on too about not being able to find a comfortable place to put your arms. I find putting a pillow under them helps. We had a beautiful day today and I'm afraid it might be the last of the 70 degree temps for awhile. Well take good care Beth.

  19. Your header photo is hilarious. I've been absent so I don't know if it's a photo you took or how long it's been there but it gave me a good chuckle to start my day!

  20. Glad you got out & voted! Bill & I voted before leaving home for the road! There were a lot of people there, too!
I am glad you are feeling good enough to get around...don't over-do though!
    Hugs!

  21. We've got some voting in our part of the country next month. I often wonder does it make much difference, or am I cynical.?

  22. Dearest Beth,

You are cynical about your age... For sure you are from the age when there were still no-nonsense people; hard working and God fearing. Nowadays it looks like we are morally bankrupt and about falling off the economical Niagara Falls! Let's hope that our voting on October 19 works out this time. Americans need to wake up before it is too late. Hugs to you from a new follower, found you on Michiko's blog.
