Sunny and cold Wednesday…

We are so lucky here as we only got wind from Sandy.  Northern Illinois close to the lakes got pounded a bit and WV has a lot of snow and 350,000 people without power.  That is all nothing compared to the ones on the east coast.  Watching the in-depth coverage last night on TV I was crying for the people involved and the things I was seeing.  The loss of life and devastation of property is heartbreaking.  And now I am reading that there is some talk of postponing the election.  I sure hope that doesn’t happen.   I don’t think I can stand much more of those hateful negative ads.  I have already voted and I just want it to be over with.

I can see that most of you are like I am with so many CDs and nothing to do with them.  So I think I will go ahead with the donation to Goodwill.  If you are reading this and are interested please go to my profile for my email and send me an email.  Sherry I especially want to hear from you as somewhere in these hundreds are several Elvis CDs and if I am remembering correctly you are an Elvis fan.

I have an errand to run this morning and a trip to Krogers for a few things.  I will catch up with you all when I get home.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Like you, I cried for the poor people in Sandy, too. What a horrible thing it was....

  2. Beth, It is hard to take..seeing our countrymen hurting. I just can't imagine living there. The sights are beyond belief. We can pray and donate to the red cross. That would help somewhat. xo, Susie

  3. Hi Beth- I did a little research. They cannot postpone the election without an act of Congress and ALL 50 states have to be in total agreement. I think they will be going ahead as usual- at least I hope so- don't want to listen to all the negative ads for another 2 months!;>) Have a safe and blessed day-xo Diana

  4. I'm completely with you on the election, it's time to be done with this, a delay would be the worst possible thing. I'm glad you came through the storm unharmed. It's been a wonderful couple of days here with temperatures near seventy...imagine that! I expect we'll have plenty of kids knocking on the door tonight. Blessings to you my friend.

  7. I tried to leave a comment earlier, and it wouldn't post, for some odd reason. Now I can't remember what I said.:)

That witch is going to have a monstrous headache whenever she comes down from that tree!

Yes, it is very sobering to see the images of storm damage on TV. Prayers going to all those who have been affected by this storm.

    Have a happy day, Beth.

  9. I surely hope there is no delay in ending this 1 1/2 year torment of nasty mean and many false ads, and thousands of Robo calls. We have already voted because in our state they will mail out the ballets and you can mail them back.

We too have been watching the news and praying for the people who have been devastated by this storm. My husband can't understand why so many people refused to evacuate when it became manditory. Sooo sad! BGB

  10. I kept waiting for the power to go out. It blinked a couple of times but that was it. We lucked out up here. If had taken a slightly different path, what happened in New Jersey and New York City could have happened here.

  11. Good fortune for you Beth, but what a horrible experience for your neighbours in NY and WV. I'm not surprised you cried, it is heartbreaking to see, the thought of losing your home and possessions of a lifetime is beyond heartbreak.
I hope you get the President you voted for.

  18. I'm so glad to know that all my blogging friends out your way are all safe and out of harm's way. I also shed many tears over all the devastation....it just seems like somewhere on the planet, there is pain and devastation 24-7....one thing that comes out of all of this heartache seems to be that we come together as a people and help each other with donations, either of money, goods, or time. It seems the worst situations will bring out the best in humans.

You are amazing at finding the absolutely, most adorable backgrounds and pictures for your blog and I, for one, am so envious! I just changed my background before visiting you this morning....and I thought mine was pretty cute....until I came and visited you. Now I feel inadequate. sniff. I used a picture of a turkey cookie that my granddaughter made herself for us last year. Her momma used my granddaughter's hand for the turkey cookie cutter. She found the idea on line. I think it turned out pretty cute, and it makes a good Thanksgiving background, but nothing like yours!! My hat's off to you. If I knew how to make an award, I would give you the best bloggerior decorator award.(I just made up that word...lol). Hugs....so glad you're not affected by the storm!

  27. One would have to have a heart of stone not to weep watching and hearing about all the suffering. Who can believe that such a thing can go on for days this way in a modern city like New York. My sister's text messages continue to be cryptic. "no gas" "not much food" "walking to work." Sigh.
