Better Saturday…

Here I am back to my old sweet cheerful self.  Life is too short to be upset over stuff you can’t change.

My doctor visit yesterday was pleasant.  You know, I like lady doctors better than the male doctors.  They are so much more understanding than their male counterpart.  Wait, after I wrote the last sentence I remembered a female doctor I had a few years ago that was a former military doctor.  She was pretty rough.  Also a psychologist  that I saw after my husband died was the pits.  If you are interested you can read about her in one of my blogs on “Growing Older is Better Than the Alternative.”

The pits…

“Describes a person, action or event that is awful, terrible, hopeless and not worthy of mention. It is pathetic and woeful beyond belief.”

It is a cloudy day at 26.  Next week is to bring very cold temps with highs in the teens.  I am not looking forward to that.

I have a roast and potatoes in the oven.  I usually cook on the weekend so that I can have leftovers for a day or two.

Have a good weekend.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Glad you had a pleasant trip yesterday. Roast/potatoes sounds very good on a cold, cloudy day. I've had horrible male AND female doctors. Guess there are no guarantees! I'll be having left over chicken casserole, as JOhn was not crazy about it - he said it needed creamy soup and rice added to be good!!!!!

  2. I have to agree about the lady doctors..some are the PITS.. mom had one and she was terrible..some I have had are wonderful though so I guess it's just who you get sometimes.Tired of chicken here so not cooking for a few days..trying to figure something out for New Year's still. Hope your weekend is a good one. XOXO

  3. Hi Beth,

Pleased you are feeling better. It does make so much of a difference when you see an understanding compassionate doctor (of whatever) I have come across the compassionate and the opposite in both sexes.

  4. Since I have never ever been treated by a female doctor, I can't express an opinion, but sure like our current male doctor. He listens. He cares. He keeps up-to-date. What more can we ask for, besides competent and satisfying health care?

A happy new year for you and all who visit your wonderfully expressive blogs. I appreciate having the opportunity to read and enjoy them, no matter what you write - you tell it like it is.

  7. Hi Beth - so happy you are back to yourself. Everyone is entitled to a "crabby day" now and then tho - so think nothing of it. And nothing can put you in a worse mood than a doctor you can't relate to - or one who can't relate to you!!

  9. Oh, yum! What wonderful aromas must be coming from your kitchen, Beth!

Do you have any snow? We haven't any sight of snow here - only cloudy and windy, making the already cool day seem even colder!

  12. Hi Beth, Happy Saturday! Glad to know that you are feeling better. Just know that you are not alone when it comes to having "doctor problems." We've all been there! Roast and potatoes in the oven sounds delicious! Enjoy the rest of your day. Stay inside and keep warm! Here in Arizona, it is sunny but feels so cold - I have felt like I was freezing all morning. We can get into the 30s and 40s here in the winter and for desert dwellers used to hot, hot summers, temps in the 30s and 40s are aweful cold!

  13. It is pretty cold here in Indiana too with our first good snow! Mmm that roast sounds good. Have a blessed weekend.

  24. I am indeed planning on having a wonderful weekend. I have 3 days off. I've had both male and female doctors. My only complaint was a pompus male periodontist who told me I should pull out all my lower teeth and get implants because they will probably fall out eventually and it would only cost me about $6000.00. That was 6 years ago. I still have my teeth and am not $6000.00 poorer. What a pompus jerk!

  25. Glad you're feeling better Beth, you certainly sound more upbeat. I too prefer female doctors, I sense they are more sympathetic. I hope it doesn't get too cold for you next week. It's hard to keep up the chore of cooking when there's only you, but you must. Take care Beth and thanks for your visits.

  27. There was this female doctor at my local GP practice and she was a moody cow, I didn't like seeing her because is she was in a bad mood she would make you feel like you were wasting her time by being there if she was is a good mood she could so nice and caring...........but you didn't know until you got inside the surgery.........I am happy to hear you are feeling better and not so low
