Saturday and…

I am getting used to a new med.  Not too bad so far.  My heart is filled with  sadness over the loss of a friend’s mother.  My heart is filled with hope and prayer for my only remaining sister in WV.  She is scheduled for major surgery on 19 December.  Here I am  500 miles away and not physically able to travel that far.  Other than that I feel halfway decent today.

Yesterday I got out with my niece to run some errands.  To the bank and post office, out to lunch and then back to watch the Young and the Restless which wasn’t too bad for a change.

I finished the Stephanie Plum book and now I am back to reading a Virgil Flowers novel by my  very favorite author John Sandford.  Just everyday happenings in my life.  Not exciting at all which is great for me as I like routine.

It is drizzly and cold this morning at 37 degrees right now to warm up to the 4os.  Then perhaps snow or rain Sunday night.

And so it is here in central Illinois on a day in December and my life goes on.

Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  2. found you through Joe's blog and just read your bio. Love that you wrote trusting God to take care of tomorrow and that life is way too short to let the little things bother you. Glad to meet you Beth

  3. Good morning Beth. I'm sorry to hear about your friend's mother. I will say a prayer for her and for your sister as she goes through surgery.
I'm glad you are getting used to your new med and hope it works for you.
Sorry I haven't been around to visit. I had my mom in the hospital last week and then had to put her into the nursing home so was busy with all that.
Have a great day and weekend.

I know your thoughts and prayers will be with your sister as you go about the things that haven to be done but just spoil yourself a little today.....you need it and ( if you should need it) I give y ou permission to rest and just ' be' today. Hugs and love. Joan

  5. I am sorry for your loss. Prayers are sent to your friends family, you and all friends. Our weather is cloudy, dreary, but yet warm. suppose to be near 82 tomorrow! But a front is suppose to move through and cool us back off. It is hard to feel seasonal with warm weather..

Enjoy the rest of your day! : )

  11. Glad the new med is working. Your sister will be in my prayers as she faces surgery. I just have one sister left, no other siblings remain. We live a few doors apart. We're gonna have much colder weather coming in and cloudy today.

  12. Hope all goes well with your sister. My sister, who is five years younger than me (still in her 40s) got menegitis and had a stroke last year...she survived thankfully because for a while the doctors thought she would not. Your sister will be in my prayers. Hope you have a nice weekend. I am going to look for that author you said was humorous. I always like books that make me laugh!

Your routine sounds pretty nice to me-I live similarly and don't do well with big change,
fortunately I'm ok with that also.
Hope your feeling better and better.

  18. I wish the day were a bit more carefree for you my friend but I guess it's better to have some good than none at all for sure. It was blustery and snowy earlier but seems to have settled down here. Some fancy cold and snow...I'm just not one of those people. Bless you Beth.

  20. I just brought home book 2 in the Virgil Flowers series, Heat Lightning, from the library today. Can't wait to get started on it. I had to restrain myself from checking out another Lucas Davenport book because pretty soon I'll be through the whole series and then what will I do? John Sandford, get busy and publish more books - soon!

  27. It's tough those times of loss. This week we went through a major loss at our school. Our SRO had a heart attack on the football field. We had the medical officers come and take him to the hospital where he passed away. 21 days before retirement! Broke my heart and it all makes us think about the importance of everyday. Sending positive thoughts your way for you sister. My Grandmother has echoed your words about siblings over time. And she hasn't been able to be with family during surgeries....don't stress. Just get on that phone and send flowers to let her know you're with her. And I'll send my good thoughts your way.

  28. How sad for your friend, and just before Christmas it makes it more poignant.
I hope your new med keeps working for you, and I wish your sister every good luck for a return to health. Take care

  29. It's sad when a loved one passes on, but knowing that someday we will be together again gives us something to look forward to.

Trust in God to guide the surgeon's hands and to give your sister the strength she needs to come through the surgery and recuperation. Prayer will be YOUR strength.

I'm so glad your doctors are finally getting your meds right. You hang in there, Beth. We are all pulling for you!
