Sunday…

and I can’t seem to focus on anything.  Tuesday my sister is having surgery and that is filling my mind along with grieving for the lost children and adults..  I had to quit watching TV because I was in tears all of the time I was watching.  It all seems like a bad nightmare.  The joyous Christmas season is filled with sorrow.

  4. Such a tragedy. And my heart goes out to the parents and families whose holidays will be forever marked by this. I know what you mean--I turned off the tv as well.

Prayers for healing and good health for your sister...focus on a positive outcome. That works best for me to keep myself calmer.

    Much love, my friend..

  7. God will be with your sister and guide the doctor's hands. You have to believe that. We are all praying for her.

As for the children, we know that they are in His Kingdom. Children are innocent, for Jesus said for us to be as little children. The saddest part is the ones that are left here on this earth to grieve their loss. An immesurable loss, for sure, but we can pray for them to find strength in His word, and that they find some grain of peace in the fact that they will be together again someday. And God shall wipe away all tears.

Please don't dwell on this, as my mom has done. When I called her last night, I found her weeping. She is convinced that evil is ruling the earth. I told her to stop watching tv. Stop watching the news. I told her to come visit the ladies here in blogland and know that there are so many wonderful, good, kind souls. I have faith in humanity because of you ladies. Hugs.

  8. Sending good thoughts and prayers for your sister. And I, too, didn't watch but a few minutes of the "news" on TV the past few days. It was like Sept 11th all over again. Too much to bear...

  12. Dear Beth,

Yes, much sadness around this Christmas, on reflection, lots of sad things often do seem to happen at this time of year, maybe in most cases we just notice them more. We are supposed to be happy, joyful, merry. The case of the shooting is heartbreaking, but I agree with one of your comments here, it is probably best not to dwell on it too much, pray, yes, but then leave it with God. I have and will pray for you and your sister.

Take Care Beth, as together we celebrate the birth of Our Saviour, I have always felt Joy is somewhat different to human happiness.

    Love Nita.

  14. Beth, we can only go on and try to be light for those in darkness. We have to be the change to show others the way. If we don't, we then become consumed. You are a light. Shine. Hugs.

Dreadful regarding the children. We have been hearing a lot down here on our news plus I have been reading about the tragedy on the net. So sad it just makes me cry!

  19. Hope your sisters surgery goes well, as for the terrible shooting of so many young and not so young lives well I do not like to watch things about bad things happening to young children.............I don't bury my head in the sand and pretend it didn't/doesn't happen but I don't need to see it replayed over and over it just saddens me so much
