It’s a Waylon, Willie and Watchful Wednesday…

I confess, I love Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, although not as much as my all time favorite George Jones.  If you have been my blogging friend for a few years you all know I am a big classic country music fan.  Todays country music has no body and soul.  That is the best way to describe it I think.  I listen to this music on WIRL Peoria.  http://tunein.com/radio/WIRL-1290-s23733/  What a great way to start the morning.  I turn on the radio and do my half hour of exercise.

It is a watchful Wednesday because we are under a winter storm watch for tomorrow and Friday.

WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE THURSDAY NIGHT...

A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE THURSDAY NIGHT.

* TIMING... SNOW WILL DEVELOP OVER PARTS OF WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS BY EARLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING.

* ACCUMULATIONS... 4 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW WITH HEAVIEST AMOUNTS NORTHWEST OF THE ILLINOIS RIVER.

* WIND... EAST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO BETWEEN 15 AND 20 MPH WITH A FEW GUSTS REACHING 30 MPH... WHICH WILL DEVELOP SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW DURING THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO THURSDAY EVENING.

**********

Since I live close by the Illinois River I am hoping we get the lesser amounts of snow.  I know a lot of you love snow.  I personally do not.  It has to be shoveled and cleaned off the car and driven in and I don’t like any of those three things.

And now I am off to have my breakfast.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  2. I agree on both the music and snow. Bought the timeline series of Classic Country a few years ago and just love it. I too live close to a river and the flood a few years ago makes me wary of snow too.

  4. Country Music ain't what it used to be.
I like the way you put it: "Todays country music has no body and soul." So true!

  6. I love them also, my tractor is named Waylon and the wagon I pull with Waylon is named Willy, the other large hand equipment are named the boys-just so I can sing Waylon and Willy and the boys-LOL

  7. I've never been much of a country music fan, but Elvis Aaron Schwarz loves it. When he plays it for me, I quite often discover I like it.

    Love,
    Janie

  8. Wow... thanks for that link.
Right now I am listening to it and typing (opened a separate window for that)
Nothing like listening to the radio while doing some work, and if its country music then nothing like it :-)

  11. I saw Willie last year at a benefit concert for the fire victims in Texas...and he is a good argument for using marijiuana (don't know how to spell it) because he knew every word to every song....he was great. He got a standing ovation.

  12. I was raised on rock 'n roll and much of my tastes are harder edged music (as you know) though not all is that way on my I-pod. Our weather is just plain dreary...cool and boring as anything. I may be without pictures on my blog for the first time in a long...I totally don't like that...ah well.

  13. Hi Beth,

I am with you, I don't like it either. We are told to expect some tomorrow and Friday, not as much as yours though, well I don't think so.
    It is cold.

  18. Wishing you the best, Beth, if that storm brings you snow. I'm sure you are prepared. Losing electricity is the one thing that concerns me during a snow storm. xo Nellie

  19. Yup it's heading our way as well. On the bright side it will only be, as of this moment 10 to 12 inches. Oh waht a relief! Truthully I am not a big Country music fan though I do like Willie Nelson.
I hope your storm fizzles out. Ours unfortunately will be fed by the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic. On the bright side it will be less than half of last weeks blizzard though thats really of little comfort. Martha's Vineyard is calling. Just a few more months.

  20. We are under the same storm warning here. I'm really not looking forward to more snow but we do need it for the moisture.

  21. Oh, we are huge Outlaw fans! In Bill's truck, we listen to Willie's Roadhouse on Sirius radio. They just don't make music like they used to. The Highwaymen and Outlaws did it right!
    Stay safe and warm!

  23. Hi Beth, though I'm not an ardent country and Western fan and don't know the people you hold dear apart form Willie N, well who doesn't know him, and him I like.
I do hope the snow gives you a light kiss rather than a full blown smacker. take care whatever.X

  24. I agree about the country music! The modern style seems like more rock to me! Hope you miss the snow! It's very cold here and has rained all day! Thankfully, no ice!
