Costco…

A few months ago a new Costco opened up just down the road from me.  My daughter and I went there this morning.  It is a gigantic store.  We tried to look at most of the store but it is impossible in one trip.  The first time we went most of the time was spent waiting in line to get my card.

Before I moved here I belonged to Sam’s Club in Champaign.  Costco is set up just about the same way, even down to where the ladies room is located (which happens to be the first place I find in a new store.)

It is dreary and drizzly here this morning at 59 degrees right now.

I am not in the mood to do anything today so I don’t think I will.  I spent the weekend moving my furniture around again and I still don’t have any more room than I did.

I hope you are all having a good Monday.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Morning, glory! Ah, the benefits of having a hundred dollar store in your neighborhood. I think the closest one to me is about an hour. Still--there are benefits to THAT too. lol

I'm feeling like you today. The rain here is coming and going, interspersed with sunshine. Makes it more tolerable. And it's about 62 here now. South of me, they're gettig hail, I hear. Makes me just wanna stay home all the more.

The good news is, everything is SO green. Loving that!

  2. i live too far from costco to make it worth the drive. even walmart is over 25 miles away - but our little town is getting one - hopefully by next year. that'll make the drive 12 miles. :)

  3. We shop at Costco a lot. You can save money there on some things - but be careful b because not everything is a savings, especially if you don't need large quatities. If you wear glasses - they are a great place to get new ones! I just got new glasses at Costco and they were literally less than half the price of what the optical shop in the doctor's office wanted. Hope your week goes well.

  4. I don't go to Costco or Sam's Club. I don't know where they are, and I don't need large quantities of anything except toilet paper, which I can get at Target. It's sunny and kind of humid here. It poured yesterday afternoon. I slept through most of the rain.

    Love,
    Janie

  5. There are NONE of the stores ANYWHERE near us! Sam's Club is about 30 miles away in NY but the state, city and county taxes are so much higher there! Oh well, I can't miss what I haven't ever had! Up to 60° here this afternoon but windy.

  7. We don't have Sam's Club or Costco anywhere near here. There is a Walmart 25 miles away. We will be getting a dollar store sometime in the near future.
    Have a restful day.

  14. We're stuck with Sam's Club in this area. I've heard better things about Costco. We do have a Kmart, but all this is in the city north of us. In our city we have only WalMart and Shopko. Luck us as I don't like WalMart so avoid it if possible.

  15. I have never been to Costco's or Sam's club, our town is too small for these big box stores but I would love to see one, I think they would have been great when we had all our children home and half the neighbor hood!

  16. I have never been to Costco's, to be honest. I do go to Walmart and Canadian Tire, they have some very good prices on many things.

  18. We had a Costco open here last November. I have made a couple of trips, and will go again. I actually prefer it to Sam's.

We had clouds here this morning, but they have given way to lots of sunshine this afternoon.

  19. I have yet to go in a Costco. I do go to Sam's club here about once a month. Love your picture at the top of your page. Pretty nice here today and tomorrow too, then it's all over again!

  20. We don't have those in Mi but I have been to them in Ca. They are about the same as you said. I find that I don't need the bulk supply that is offered in there so I don't shop there. I agree it is a large store and tiring to get around in. Glad you enjoyed the trip there. Take care :-)

  22. "I am not in the mood to do anything today so I don’t think I will." Makes me smile and I am going to do that one day real soon! I have never been in a Costco..there is one 65 miles away. I don't like those membership places..but that is just me:)

  24. Seems like moving furniture around is just something we have to do from time to time. I just did that in a bedroom. Used to go to Costco when I lived downstate and really liked it.

  25. Hope you enjoyed your day of resting! I have never been to Costco, but I have eaten some of the goodies that others have purchased there....Yum. I really don't need another store where I like to shop, so I don't know whether to wish we had Costco or not!

  27. I just found out we have a new Costco up here in Fargo that Dagan and Leah have been going to for some time. I never get out, you know--LOL! We have a Sam's Club here, too, and I know how huge those stores are. The first thing I look for is the bathroom, too! ;)

  28. We've got a Cosco here too. I actually prefer Sam's Club. The parking lot at the Cosco alone is always chaotic...I feel blessed to get out of there with life and limb usually!
