Not a nice way…

to spend the day.  I spent almost 5 hours in the hospital emergency room yesterday.  Diagnosed as a muscle spasm in my back.  Not fun for me or my daughter who sat there with me.  I have long been plagued with back problems and had back surgery a few years ago.

It is 60 lovely degrees this morning to reach 84 degrees.  I have a hair appointment this morning.  I won’t be doing anything else today as yesterday wiped me out.  Maybe all of the furniture moving I have been doing lately has caught up with me.  I have even given up on the thought of buying a new sofa for now.

Have any of you ever heard of a Sears House?  There is one in the little town of Paxton where my children were born and Jim and I lived all of our married life.

Sears house in Paxton

At one time there was a  very nice article on this house in the Paxton Record  newspaper.  I haven’t been able to find the article on the internet.

I took this picture in the fall several years ago.  In the summertime it has lovely flowers growing out of the barrels.

I hope you all have a good day.  I plan to enjoy the sunshine and the warm temperatures.

  5. Beth, I should scold you..but I can't, you are just like me..we move things, lift things, strain our backs, knowing full well we will pay for it. I have a weak back and I mess it up every so often. My chiropractor told me to do stretching exercises before working. Just like a runner works their muscles before running. So take care of yourself.xoxo,Susie

  17. Yes, I do know what a Sears Home is. Read a story about one once written by Jean Shepherd the man who wrote "A Christmas Story." I think Sears Homes are very interesting. There was a neighborhood of them in Edwardsville, Illinois which isn't too far from where we used to live, downstate. Sorry to hear about your back and trip to the emergency room. Not fun. Hope you are doing much better.

  19. 5 hours of waiting...what a shame. Have you ever gone to one of those immediate care centers? Not sure how bad your pain was but I know the wait is much shorter.

    XO,
    Jane

  31. So sorry you had such a horrible day! Maybe too much furniture moving was the culprit. :( Stay better!
I had heard people used to be able to order houses and barns from stores, so I assume a Sears House must have been one of those. ??
