Up and at ‘em…

early this morning.  I have been waking up a little after 5 in the morning for the last week or so.  I just get out of bed then, no since staying in bed since I am wide awake.

It is a beautiful morning.  The sun is shining at 52 degrees.  The temp is to reach the mid 80s today with more rain coming in tomorrow.

My visit to the doctor was good yesterday.  He had left his God complex at home and was very nice and courteous to me.  He spoke to me as an adult and not as a backward child.  I have so many different doctors, one for everything.  Sometimes I can’t keep track of which appointment I have with which one.  Some of them I like,  A couple of them I tolerate and two of them  I have a great deal of liking and respect for.  Sadly the doctors today have no ‘bedside manner.’

“Bedside manner…

A good bedside manner is typically one that reassures and comforts the patient while remaining honest about a diagnosis. Vocal tones, body language, openness, presence, and concealment of attitude may all affect bedside manner. Poor bedside manner leaves the patient feeling unsatisfied, worried, frightened, or alone.”

I am doing laundry this morning.  I have changed the bedding and taken off the blankets to wash.  Now watch it get cold again.

Have a peaceful day.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. I'm happy everything went well and the doctor was more on the courteous side. I have to say, there has been a change of attitude at the clinic I go to. They all seem so much friendly and open than ever before. Don't know what brought it about, but I like it.

  2. Good morning Beth! Glad to hear that your doctor visit went well. I totally know what you mean by doctors have no bedside manner. I hope things go well for you today!

  3. I totally agree with you on bedside manner. Most doctors don't know this, probably because it's one thing they don't bother teaching these days. Of all the docs I've seen in my lifetime, there have only been a handful that were truly concerned for my well-being. I think if docs had to make house calls again, they would quickly learn the art of bedside manner! Glad to hear your visit was positive and things are going well.

  4. Hi Beth,

Hope it stays warm for you. It is set to get colder here, with high winds and rain.

  5. The medical end of things is something that generally we've not had to deal with and I'm so thankful. We cared for my grand parents in the twilight of their lives and that was enough doctors and such for a lifetime. It's 53 here at the moment with a glorious week ahead. Have a wonderful day my friend.

  12. I'm glad your doctor yesterday wasn't unpleasant.

We took off the blanket a few weeks ago, and as the weather has developed, that was a bit too soon. No bother, though. We just put an extra spread over the top of the bed at night. We don't need it every night, so it really was time to put the blanket away.

I am busy with laundry myself today.

  15. Glad your appt went well. :) I know what you mean by bedside manner. Most of my doctors are pleasant, but I have to remember everything to ask because they don't always remember!

  16. BEDSIDE manner should be a class taught to all persons who are trying to become a doctor. If they were on the other side of the bed for awhile maybe they would really appreciate treating people in a better way. Glad your trip was a nice one..

  17. A good bedside manner makes all the difference in a doctor! Unfortunately, not all of them have it. :(

    Have a great evening, Beth.

  21. I am fortunate to only have to deal with my G.P. once a year. A visit to the dentist looms though. Now I have to go to work. I wonder what my bedside manner will be like today?

  22. Well, I agree with you here! I thought of you as the Arias trial verdict came down. I wonder what you think of it and what comes next: sentencing.

  23. I find the Specialists are not nice. One out of ten are real and passion and understand . The rest should walk in our shoes.I had an uncle who was Chief or a big Hospitial in the city living. He was terrible then after he got cancer he then wrote a book in Hospital stays inand out having cancer treatments. It was then he realized his bedside manners stunk to his patients and he was rude to his staff. He did apologize but it had to be as he had cancer. Sad. That woke him up that he was on the other side of the desk now. He was the patient.

So happy you had a good Dr Beth this time . Our docotors in my small town they have bedside manners 100% and do not treat you as cattle. The Specialsits we have to go to are in bigger towns and they are very ignorant terrible bedside manners. I agree with your Beth.

I used to watch that soap T.V episode of that program when young. In my 30's.

Now I am hooked on Cornation but now it is getting too much into the younger jet intertainment and bringing in so much unexpected crap and two whom I did enjoy on there. Kevin the garage guy who played sallys huby has been arrested in real life for being a P.Hard to believe.

Then Ken an old timer since Cornation started been convicted for R a 15 year old and other women.

So Cornation is going down the tube and soon going to the dogs.
