This begins the 4th week of my recovery. I am feeling better, not much strength so far. I am able to chew some now but I have lost my sense of taste. Everything tastes the same to me. I hope that comes back. My daughter told me that I am walking a lot better, not having to hang on to her arm everywhere we go.
We had a cold front go through last night and the temp is in the 60s to reach mid 70s today. This is such a welcome relief from the upper 90s we have had for the last couple of weeks. September is here. I love when the colors start to change on the trees. My header photo shows a picture that I took last fall of the trees on my street that I live on.
Another pic from my street.
I hope you all are enjoying the Labor Day Holiday. Have fun! Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Glad you are doing better---keep hanging in there, you'll get stronger as time passes. Enjoy the holiday and cooler weather---fall is just around the corner. Goodie! Love the photos and the season!

ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteGood to see your recovery is going well
Hugs Nita
Wow, I sure hope your taste comes back too...that sounds miserable. I do believe you'll continue to get better and that your taste will come back too. Thank God you're getting stronger. It goes from barely 60 to near 100 today for us...I don't much like the unbelievable contrast.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear you are progressing well. It has been a tough road. It's nice that the bumps along the way are finally smoothing out. Your fall foliage photos are very pretty. Many of my family members are from Peoria and surrounding area and I always loved to go there during fall to see the changing colors along the road sides.
ReplyDeleteJust stay the course Beth You'll get there. Maybe some day you could come up here, I'll put you up in the hotel that's only about a half mile from here and Arlene and I will show you some of the local sites. You'd love the North End! Not only would you see some very famous historical sites but you might have the best Italian food you ever had in your life.
ReplyDeleteI pray you have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
One day at a time, each day hopefully will be better.
ReplyDeleteHello Beth
ReplyDeleteI am so thank full you are feeling better as I read your blogs I am stunned what you have been through. But we know who holds our hand when hardships come. My daughter in law went through it all last year and she says that her taste buds are slowly returning, and that has been a year. My computer was on the blink and now have a new one and hope to be able to follow your progress. Keeping you in my prayers always.
Beth, I am happy to read that you are somewhat better. You will be in my prayers. I want you to be able to enjoy life again. It's no fun being sick...and what you have gone through is unbelievable. You will rise above all this and be totally well again. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

ReplyDeleteHi Beth, I am glad that you are feeling better. As far as your taste goes, I can relate! I had a case of diverticulitis last year and the smell and taste of food completely turned me off for a long time...months! Continuing prayers for you.

ReplyDeleteI continue to have you in my thoughts and prayers!
Hugs,

I'm happy to hear you are getting stronger, a little each day. Take your time - you can't rush recovery.
ReplyDeletePraying for you that the taste buds wake up and say HOWDY and things will get tasty again. I do know how bad it is to not eat much of anything at all. Soon the cooler weather and color changes will lift your spirits even more. Fall colors have a very healing effect, so when they surround you stand in it as often as you can. It helped to bring me out of a very dark place one time. Let your body shed all those bad cells to ready for new ones to come. Blessing and prayers to you.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear of your improvement. I do hope your taste buds come back. The cool weather is a nice break from the heat.
