The Marigold Festival will be held here this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I will not be attending this year. It always draws a massive crowd and I don’t want to be in a large crowd for awhile. Pekin is known as the Marigold Capital of the World. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pekin,_Illinois

ReplyDeleteFall festivals can be such fun and I know you will miss it but Carol is right. Probably best to stay home this year.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Beth. Miss Marigold is a lovely young lady! I think this is the first year in many that we have not planted marigolds!

We know it has been some time but we did want to tell you how very much we appreciate all the kinds words of compassion you left us for over the loss of our dearly beloved Abby. We are humbled by all the support and love we received and there is no way we can tell you how much it meant to us.

ReplyDeleteI remember that you went last year, and am sorry you won't this time. I do hope you are continuing to get stronger and feel better. I love marigolds, and have numerous blooming this year! I have never had so many!
ReplyDeleteBeth,
ReplyDeleteI just want you to know how much I appreciate the fact that you shared with us your life going through radiation and what it was like....and what you are going through now. As I told you, the day after you told us what kind of cancer you had, my co-worker (who is a sweetheart and I love dearly) told me that her mom just found out she had tongue cancer....and never smoked or drank. I have been able to be encouragement to her because of you. I have relayed your story to her and she has been uplifted with hope. Your story is going to be helping these two women through the hell of radiation. Because you were so honest, they know ahead of time that it will be painful, but that it will be relatively short lived and that she will be able to eat again. Hugs to you and your bravery through all of this. You are an inspiration to us all.
Hugs. I hope that you gain some energy and strength.
ReplyDeleteSeems like so many towns have their own particular festival. I'm glad you didn't go. Need to avoid catching anything from crowds for a while. What a pretty girl, though! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, stay away from yucky germs that would come from being in a crowd...you don't need a nasty cold on top of everything else. The young lady in the picture is so lovely...I wish I had flawless skin like that...oh to be young again!
ReplyDeleteBe well,
Blessings, Joanne
I know nothing about flowers but I do like the lovely flower in the picture. I'm not crazy about crowds either that's why I go away during the off seasons.
ReplyDeleteThere is a Pekin, Indiana, too. They are famous for their July 4 parade and picnic!
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! I so don't do big crowd's either :)
