Marigold Festival, Pekin Illinois

The Marigold Festival will be held here this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  I will not be attending this year.  It always draws a massive crowd and I don’t want to be in a large crowd for awhile.  Pekin is known as the Marigold Capital of the World.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pekin,_Illinois

  6. Good morning, Beth. Miss Marigold is a lovely young lady! I think this is the first year in many that we have not planted marigolds!

I think it is wise of you to stay away from crowds. Hopefully you are feeling stronger each day.

    Hugs and prayers,

  11. What a beautiful girl. So happy to see you again and hope and pray every day you get stronger and stronger. Can't blame you for not wanting to be in crowds right now - that is probably a wise decision.

    Love, hugs, and prayers.

  15. We know it has been some time but we did want to tell you how very much we appreciate all the kinds words of compassion you left us for over the loss of our dearly beloved Abby. We are humbled by all the support and love we received and there is no way we can tell you how much it meant to us.

  20. Beth,
I just want you to know how much I appreciate the fact that you shared with us your life going through radiation and what it was like....and what you are going through now. As I told you, the day after you told us what kind of cancer you had, my co-worker (who is a sweetheart and I love dearly) told me that her mom just found out she had tongue cancer....and never smoked or drank. I have been able to be encouragement to her because of you. I have relayed your story to her and she has been uplifted with hope. Your story is going to be helping these two women through the hell of radiation. Because you were so honest, they know ahead of time that it will be painful, but that it will be relatively short lived and that she will be able to eat again. Hugs to you and your bravery through all of this. You are an inspiration to us all.

  22. Seems like so many towns have their own particular festival. I'm glad you didn't go. Need to avoid catching anything from crowds for a while. What a pretty girl, though! :)

  23. Yes, stay away from yucky germs that would come from being in a crowd...you don't need a nasty cold on top of everything else. The young lady in the picture is so lovely...I wish I had flawless skin like that...oh to be young again!
    Be well,
    Blessings, Joanne

  24. I know nothing about flowers but I do like the lovely flower in the picture. I'm not crazy about crowds either that's why I go away during the off seasons.
