I couldn’t believe it was true…

“Red Sox manager John Farrell contested the call, but it appeared to be the correct one. Regardless of intent, Middlebrooks clearly got in Craig’s way as he tried to run home. It’s not the way the Cardinals drew it up, certainly, but the rules are the rules.”

And that says it all.

Stay safe and be happy!!

  1. I didn't see the game, but did enjoy reading the clipping in the link you provided. What a disappointment. Sorry your team didn't win. Don't you just hate games like that! Sometimes it just isn't fair.

  2. What can I say? That was a most unusual way to win or lose a game. If the Sox lose the series, this will go down in Boston sports mythology along with the ball rolling through Bill Buckner's legs in the '86 World Series and the "too many men on the ice" call when the Bruins were going for the Stanley Cup. I'm sure there's one for the Boston Celtics but I can't think of it now. The Sox have come back all year long so don't count them out. They did tie the game up in the late innings.
One thing about baseball, it sure can be filled with a lot of drama.
Beth, I luv ya, but what else can I say, Go Sox!"

    1. Oh Paul. I luv ya too! I was just telling my son in law today that the best thing we had going right then was an umpire in St; Louis! I think if it had happened at Fenway that he would have been called out! May the luckiest team win.

  9. It made me think of small kids playing instead of professionals. I guess you are suppose to try to win any way that you can, but it doesn't set good examples. We teach little ones not to be in the base line and look what happens. Chiefs 8-0 who would believe that after last year. Come on Cardinals! We want you to win. Have a great day.
