Remember that tree…

that I took a photo of the first of each month last year (2012)?  During the thunderstorm we had a couple of nights ago one of the big branches came down.  I do think now that the cemetery will have to do something about the tree in the spring.  Any bad storms this winter will surely cause more branches to come down.

My daughter took me to the hospital Christmas Craft Show this morning.  There was a lot of great things there.  I have no room here for more Christmas decorations.  I did buy some beautiful note cards and a lovely Christmas bowl with at least a half pound of fudge in it for $5 which was a terrific  buy.  The fudge is really good too.  I love the verse on the notecards.  I hope you will be able to read it  The cards were reasonably priced at $8.50.

Yesterday was a do nothing day as my eyes were dilated from the exam at the ophthalmologist.   My eyes were blurry all day and so no reading or watching TV or being on the computer much.  I am looking at surgery next year.  After the last few months that news is minor so I am not going to even think about that.

I hope you all have a lovely peaceful weekend.  Stay safe and be happy!!

  2. Beth, If it isn't one thing it's another...I know you must feel that way at times. I have since Spring this year. We have to look at our blessings...and find them in the smallest things too. Bless your heart. I love the cards you chose. I am always writing so I use up cards and stamps fast. I do remember your tree photos. I always enjoyed them. Blessings to you Beth. xoxo,Susie

  5. Oh, yum! What good looking fudge! The notecards are really pretty. I like the hummingbird. Hopefully the tree won't send any branches in a direction to cause damage. xo Nellie

  6. That is a big old branch to lose. I have to avoid my woodland walks at this time of year for the same reason.
Your notecards are pretty, and the fudge sounds good.

  7. I remember that tree also. It was fun to see the changes of seasons with that tree. Oh dear, I would hate to see it have to be taken down completely. Are you talking about cataract (sp)? I just had that done, and it really is an easy surgery to go through. It really is - I wouldn't worry about that one. You have been through so much worse this past year. Hugs

  8. Falling branches in public places are not a good mix - maybe we should stay away from the tree!!

  9. I like the note cards, the fudge and pretty dish. I always look forward to the craft shows around the holidays, I just love things that are homemade.

I have some sort of eye infection so I wasn't able to do much today either. We have to appreciate what we have while we have it!

    Jane

  10. It has been nice watching that tree through your posts. Will be kind of sad if they have to take it down. Love those note cards. If it's cataracts Mariocatsmom is right, it is really not a bad one to go through.

  11. That is such a lovely verse Beth those cards are lovely. Good to grab a bargain now and again. I remember the tree it's a shame when that happens, a few broken off here in the gales. But nothing too bad glad to say. The cataract op isn't too bad I hear. Enjoy the coming week and hugs from across the Pond.

  12. Oh what a shame of that tree but it is a danger with people around.

Oh the note cards are lovley and fudge is nice but I find fudge so overly sweet.

My face puckers as I take a bite so sweet. Last time I had fudge was a year ago.

Enjoy Beth if you can take the sweetness.

  13. That poor tree certainly took a beating. We've had some close calls but have avoided tree damage around here. One step at a time...let surgery of later days not trouble you now for sure. Blessings to you my friend.
