Update for Gabriel…

Tiffany and Brian were able to take little Gabriel home from the hospital last night.  They asked me to thank all of my blogging friends for  the prayers for Gabriel.  They feel so blessed to finally be able to take their little guy home with them.  THANKS!!  I will keep you all updated with further news.  I am asking for a new picture to post.

************************************

It is so sunny and beautiful here this morning.  It was 24 degrees when I got up  at 6:30 and has warmed up to 33 degrees now.  There is a big heavy frost on everything, especially on my car.  When the sun has burned the frost off my car I have to run a couple of errands.  I scraped frost yesterday morning.  I had forgotten for awhile how much I miss my big 2 car garage from home.  If my car wasn’t so old I would have an automatic starter put on it so I could start the car from the house.  My car is a 2002 with only 86,000 miles on it.  Maybe I will do it anyway.  I think I will call the Buick dealer to find out what it would cost.

I have purchased a spiral sliced ham for Thanksgiving.  As it looks right now I probably will be eating it alone.  LOL  That is OK.  I am a pretty good cook and have fixed dozens of Thanksgiving meals in my lifetime.  So I will fix the works.  Probably not pumpkin pie as it is not one of my favorite pies.  Gotta have that green bean casserole though as I love that.  Also mandarin orange salad.  What are your Thanksgiving plans?

Have a good weekend.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Sis..so glad the little one is better and able to go home. As for the cold I am still not ready. We had snow in the upper part of the state last night, Glad all we got was frost. Do you remember when 80,000 miles was a lot? I do..now cars go over 100,000 miles. Think you would like the starter thing but could be costly if it doesn't work and you have to keep repairing it. I wish I was closer I would come with extras for your dinner. I will make the same old stuff this year with one exception, no gravy. I do without that and make out fine. The holidays here will be quiet and uneventful. Sun here and glad to see it!! Prayers for you always..continued good health. XOXO

  7. Glad the baby is doing better. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving. Eating alone might actually be really relaxing! That ham sounds mighty good! I actually would prefer ham for Thanksgiving, but hubby loves turkey and always buys the biggest bird in the store and we have leftovers forever. Have a good weekend, Beth!

  10. Happy Friday to you, Beth. That is good news about Gabriel!

Thanksgiving plans were originally for hosting 16; however, now it appears that there will only be seven, perhaps nine, of us. Turkey and dressing has been a favorite of mine for years. That's on the menu here. You are certainly welcome to come south and join us!

  11. I think it may just be my husband and me. We're at that point where our children have to divide their holidays between families, so it will be quiet at our house. And the ham sounds delicious!

  13. Oh that is great news about Gabriel - prayers certainly get answered!! : )

It will just be Ken and I for Thanksgiving and I'll make a turkey and all that goes with it.

Too bad you lived far away. You'd be most welcome here with us. : )

  15. Well, if we lived closer you would be sitting at my dinner table if I could beg you to come! I will have a full house with kids and grandkids galore...but we will be doing it Wednesday night before Thanksgiving because of several things going on this year. That's okay-at least we will be together. xo Diana

  16. Reading your temperatures then realized they were in F not C :)
Pleased to read the baby is home, so that's excellent.
Thanksgiving, of course we don't have here, but understand no one coming home for celebrations, that is what happens in our house some years with immediate family going to wife's parents houses, and one son living far away...but then I seem to take on strays at times, but not every year.

Green bean casserole sounds interesting; is this a traditional Thanksgiving dish?

  19. So happy that Gabriel is home. :)
We love ham! We will probably have turkey for Thanksgiving. But, we always have a spiral ham for Christmas...yum yum!
My suv is a 2005 and has a little over 100,000 miles on it, but it is paid for and we don't have any problems with it, so I will be keeping it. :) My husband is a mechanic and I've only heard great things about Buicks. :)
