Never never land…

That is where I have been for the last few days.  A good friend of mine sent me along a message with good intentions and a link to something that we had both been talking about.  Oh my, what a mess I have had on my computer.  A lot of malware which Malware Bytes cleaned up nicely for me .  I am left however with pop up adware on my blog.  To say this disturbs me very much is not quite adequate in describing the way I am feeling.  This is only when viewed on the Chrome Browser.  Everything is fine when viewed on IE or Safari.  I am thoroughly sick of GOOGLE and I can’t figure out how to stop the crap.  A thorough malware scan of all files on my computer shows clear now as does a virus scan.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of adware?????  If any of you have my gmail address please change it to exactly the same but @outlook.com instead of gmail.com.  If I can get that all changed over I will be closing out a lot of my blogger stuff.

On the bright side…Paul asked me to thank everyone who visited his blog and wished him happy birthday.  Arlene did take him out to celebrate.

When I get this computer mess figured out I will be around to visit you all.  Please bear with me.

Beth

  1. I know there's such a thing as a pop-up blocker, but I don't know how to enable it. I'll ask someone smart.

  2. Beth, I sent an email to a sweet young woman whose blogger name is Mayor Gia. I hope she knows how to solve your problem, or knows someone who can.

    1. Hey! I'm not great at this stuff, but you might want to try this spy cleaner: http://download.cnet.com/Spy-Cleaner-Gold/3000-8022_4-10301484.html?tag=mncol;3

There's a 15 day free trial period and then it costs money. Good luck!!

  3. Hi Beth, I am not certain what is happening, but things are fine on my end, and yes, I do use Google Chrome. I cannot stand Internet ExploDer (yes, this is what I call it), and I don't trust it...so I never use it. I hope that your issues will be resolved shortly.

  4. Oh Beth, I do sympathize with you. I'm glad you got rid of the malware. Sorry about the Adware. I've had a similar problem with Adware. Our son-in-law put both Adware and AGV on my computer to take care of all the security issues. Adware is a good program, but they are relentless in trying to get you to install their product. I finally, much to the dislike of my son-in-law) bought Adware for a year instead of using their free one. That stopped the pop ups from coming in. I also know you can get a program called AdBlock. I have not installed AdBlock yet. But since I've bought a year's subscription to Adware, all my pop-ups have stopped. I hope you can get your problem solved. my email address is ladycat3.04@gmail.com if you have any questions. I'd be happy to give you my phone number in an email, but not on here.

  5. By the way, Beth, sorry for the issues you are having. I was having issues just the other day in posting by blog link on Facebook. Instead of a photo that belongs to me showing, a cat's photo from a fellow blogger in France was showing on my posts. At any rate, I sent an e-mail to Facebook and told them what was going on, and thankfully it has been resolved. I believe it was a Facebook issue in this case. I can't stand glitches, but I guess we learn with each experience. Sending you a warm hug.

  6. Sorry that you are having computer woes. I can't use IE anymore because it gives my computer fits. So many folks have gone with the Google plus, which is problematic. All the best with getting it straightened around.

  7. Sure hope you get things straightened out. I've been lucky since 1985 without ever having problems. I'm on my 3rd Mac.

  8. We get so dependent on our daily ability to use our computer, that it is painful when we have troubles, And we all have them from time to time usually because someone else screws them up. I hope you get it all fixed soon, Beth. Have a good rest of the day. Bertie from frozen Redmond, Wa.

  10. Yes, I had an episode of malware when I attempted to download an ebook! It was quite annoying, and it was very soon when I wiped it all off the computer! Such a hassle! I'm sorry you are feeling such stress! xo Nellie

  11. Sorry for all the problems you're having. I goggled and found a free Ad Blocker. It works for me but may not be what you need. I hope it gets straightened out for you soon. Blessings.

  13. Beth. When you are in google go up to the 3 little black dashes on the top right side. Click on it- then click on Settings.
Go to the far left side and you will see
    History
    Extensions
    Settings
    Click on Extensions
If you have anything in there X it out. You may have to keep doing that a few times but it eventually stops.
If THAT doesn't work let me know and I will tell you the other thing you might want to do.
I am off to bed for the night so I will catch up with you in the morning. xo Diana

  15. Sorry to hear of your pop up, they are annoying. I use AdBlock which is an add -on on my browser. Also there is CCleaner, Malwarebytes and Spybot Search & Destroy to clean your computer out...what one doesn't get the other one will, and I used these last 3 before I shut down my computer at night if necessary to do so. I always don't do a custom install, I choose what I want to install so that way I don't get the 'things' I don't want installed with the software. They are all free programs.
Hope that is of some help.

  19. I don't know how to deal with those computer sicknesses and would be lost without Dagan and Leah coming to my rescue! I hope you find a solution.
