And the days…

are dwindling down and it is only 64 days till Spring!!

It is not very spring like out this morning.  It is 14 degrees and the wind chill is 3 degrees.  The big snow didn’t happen here yesterday although it hit with a vengeance in Wisconsin.  I am sorry for my blogging friends and family in Wisconsin but I am very happy for little ole me here in central Illinois.  I can look out at an almost bare ground this morning.

Work has begun on the big apartment building  2 doors down from me that lost its roof during the tornado,  I have continued to see action even on the coldest days of work being done on the 2 houses around the corner from me.  Across the street from me lives an older lady.  She had a big tree on top of her house which extensively damaged her roof.  I can look out my front window and see the big orange X painted on her garage door.  Her roof has been patched but not fixed.  Whenever Spring finally comes there will be constant activity of rebuilding.

Of course I still don’t have my kitchen window in yet and I intend to make mention of that when I pay my rent this month.  I pay enough to be making a house payment each month.  I had considered buying a house when I moved here but I decided against that.  My rent is due to be raised April 1st and I don’t feel inclined to pay that increase until my window is fixed.

This is Wednesday and I have had a nice little rant to celebrate.  Just because I am wanting to see daylight in my kitchen again doesn’t mean that I don’t relish each new day that I am given because I do!!

Have a bright sunshiny day.  OOPS!!  I just looked out the window and it is snowing like crazy!!  That is what I get for lording it over my Wisconsin friends!  I have learned my lesson!

Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  2. Our weather here in the South has been wonky! We go from ice to 50-60 degrees! So many people are sniffling from allergies or head colds.

I am looking forward to stable weather! Enjoy your week.

  6. oh beth, i do hope they fix the window soon!! it was warm here today, about 50 degrees!!

we have LOT'S of commercial buildings with tenants in them. we have not raised our rents in many years because the economy is so bad. we want to keep them and by not raising the rents, it lets the tenants know we appreciate having them!! we don't need a lot of empty spaces!!

  7. More snow! Oh no. It is sunny in KC. Last Sunday it was 60 degrees and I slipped and fell on a patch of ice, thinking it had all melted...surprise!

  8. I think the landlord might actually cut you some slack on the rent if you still have no window in April.

Oh I groaned when you said the snow was falling. = D Still, winter has a lot of life yet.

  9. Oh no! Not more snow!
I hope you get your window in soon. You have been patient but they should not go up on your rent until that is completed.
    Thanks for visiting Bonnie.
Have a restful night. I think of you each time I look thru the seed catalogs - count down to spring!

  12. LOL, you're getting snow again. I'm sorry, I didn't really send it too you. More coming here they say. I don't think I've been out more than once in the last few weeks. Getting antsy. I can't believe your window is still not fixed.

  13. Goodness, it takes a long time to get things fixed, that seems forever ago you told about the big storm, but then I expect because of the cold repairs can't be done.
Keep warm, it's still hot here but lovely :)
