A bright sunshiny….

bitter cold morning with the temp only to reach 8 – 10 degrees today.  I am thoroughly disgusted with the polar vortex.  He can pack his bags any time and go live with Murphy.  We are predicted to have snow starting Friday evening and lasting till Monday afternoon with a significant  accumulation and then the below zero temps to follow.  The countdown till Spring is 20 days and the countdown till DST is 9 days.

I was up at 6 this morning  for a trip to the hospital for labs.  I picked up my daughter and we went to Bob Evans for breakfast afterwards.  Then a stop at food depot to stock up on needed items for the snow storm headed our way.

I really liked my new nephrologist that I saw yesterday.  Very nice and thorough, thus my having to have labs done today.  I was delighted when he told me that he had telephone conferences with my nephrologist at Champaign.  I loved that doctor in Champaign,  If you have read any of my blogs from years ago you would know that I always described Dr. Sehy  http://www.christieclinic.com/primary-care-and-specialties/doctor/204/sehy-j.-timothy/ as the most handsome doctor that I have ever had.  I have this thing about doctors, I either love them or I tolerate them.  Two of them have a god complex but most of them are nice.  I have a specialist for everything which can be good or bad whichever way you look at it.

And now I am out of the mood to do anything.  I have been busy getting caught up on the books I have on my Nook.  I think when I have read everything I have loaded on there that I am going to buy a Kindle Fire as I like dealing with Amazon much better than Barnes and Noble.

I have been reading the Calhoun Chronicles bundle.  “Award-winning New York Times bestseller and consummate storyteller Susan Wiggs brings you three enthralling historical romances about unconventional women and the men who learn to love them. Included in this bundle are The Charm School, The Horsemaster's Daughter and Halfway to Heaven.”

  2. You had a busy day..glad you can get out and about and all the testing is done for now. This winter is relentless I just am so tired of it. More shoveling is NOT ON MY agenda for the coming days but I bet I have to anyway. I think the count is good for spring but mother nature may have other plans for us. Take care and Prayers for you always XoXo

  4. We, too, have so many medical appointments. Now there is a possibility that my husband also has Parkinson's. He starts with a test for something else tomorrow morning and if it doesn't create a different diagnosis, he'll begin as I did. Hid Dad had Parkinson's. Oh well. One day at a time. I am wishing warmer weather for you, Beth. I know so much of the country has suffered so much. Our daughter is coming to visit late next week from Minneapolis. Got to go. Another appointment looms.

  5. Beth, I am thinking this is the winter that won't quit. Brr, it's so cold here today. Thank God the sun is out...it helps me know this will not last. Glad you did well this morning. Busy days seem harder when the air is so darn cold. Take care, praying we do not get all the snow and ice stuff. xoxo,Susie

  8. Our weather truly sucks too. We've got a new foot of snow predicted plus the foot we just got. The store was a zoo...everyone preparing for another "snowpocalypse". We'll shovel out(again) today and wait for it to happen all over again.

  9. I won't tell you about our sun and weather but it isn't what it used to be at this time of year either! Hang in. Staying warm and fed and well read will have to be enough for a bit longer. Darn! Spring is SO SLOW to come.

  10. It is good to hear that you like your doctor. I hope the lab work shows that everything is stable. Boo! Scare that Polar Vortex away! Take DST with it!:-)

  12. Ugh - your weather is much the same as ours. Depressing to say the least. It just dawned on me that you and I both have Nooks. I might have some books that I could Lend to you. My only disappointment with the Nook is that some authors only put their books on the Kindle and not the Nook too. Otherwise, I've been happy with it. Stay warm. Tomorrow I should have a new blog post - finally.

  13. Oh my another storm and snow... and your days are coming down as days do :) It's the first day of Autumn here tomorrow being the 1st March but our nice warm weather should continue for awhile yet.
Dr's.. I do like the way you describe them as a patient. I know lots of them think they are God's gift to women, some are down to earth, some good some not so good...they are just like us, human!
    Keep warm.

  15. Willy Dunne Wooters told me there was to be another polar vortex. It rained here yesterday and has gradually become chillier throughout the day. We have it much easier than you do, though.

    Love,

  16. The one good thing about lab work is that we usually get a good breakfast afterwards! Sorry to hear about more cold and snow for you this weekend. Glad your daughter took you by the store today. Hope you rest well.

  17. That storm may hit us on Monday. Could be substantial or only a couple of inches. And yes we have the same temps here as well. It was 10 this morning.
I'll be seeing a new doctor in a couple of weeks for my yearly exam. My last one was a nice guy.

  18. I like when doctors get along harmoniously. They can better care for you if they know what each other thinks. Good for you.

I have read a few books by Susan Wiggs, but I just can't remember the names. And I don't remember them being historical romances. Maybe I have her mixed up with someone. I have many books loaded up on my Nook. I didn't know until after I purchased them that there is a way to "save" them to buy later if you like. There are newer books out there I'm more interested in reading now. Umph!

    XO,
    Jane

  19. Oh- The weather is just frightful, isn't it, with all this cold weather? Glad our appt is over and behind you...hoping for good results from all your labs.

I know you love to read. Did you read A Thousand Splendid Suns? I am about 1/2 way through it and it is one of the best books I have read in a long time. xo Diana

  20. My mom has a specialist for everything too. Some of her specialists come from Peoria including her nephrologist, oncologist and cardiologist. Hoping that your labs are all good.

Our snow prediction has been decreased, but I'll believe it when I see it.

  21. Hope all your lab works turns out good.
Sorry about more snow and cold your way. We, out here in West Texas, have had hardly ANY snow...and we'll be covered up in sand storms come Spring.
I am sure looking forward to summer this year.
    Stay warm....xo bj
