A trace of snow…

and bright sunshine this  chilly Tuesday morning in central Illinois.    The countdown till Spring marches on at 22 days!  My Boston friend Paul asked why I wasn’t counting down the days till daylight savings time.  Daylight savings time begins on Sunday March 9th which is 11 days from now,  The reason I didn’t mention this before is because I don’t like DST.  I wish that the time would stay one way or the other.  Stop by Paul’s blog if you have a minute.  He always has wonderful photos of the Boston area.

Yesterday was busy for me.  I ran a lot of errands which included  having new windshield wiper blades put on my car.  The ice and snow this winter had ruined them.  I couldn’t believe how expensive they were.  The guy at Auto Zone came out in the bitter cold and had them on in about 2 minutes.

I talked to my brother near ST. Louis yesterday.  If all goes well he and his wife will come in a couple of months  and pick me up. We will drive to West Virginia to visit my sister and brother in law and all of her family there.  I haven’t seen my sister since 2010.  To say I am so happy at the thought is no exaggeration.

I need to motivate myself to clean today but the want to is definitely not there.  I was much more motivated in my own home, but, I can’t stand clutter so I try and keep this place as if it was my own.  It is time for me to sign another lease.  Before I moved here I looked at a lot of houses online trying to decide whether to rent or buy.  It is rather late now to make that decision.  A super windfall from somewhere would help me make up my mind.  LOL  Rae and I have talked about that and we can’t think of anyway that will ever happen short of a miracle.  But hey, my life has been filled with miracles the last 4 years.  I am living proof.

Time to get off this computer and do some visiting with you all.  Then a bit of cleaning and checking the fridge to see what is for lunch.

Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  3. Sis..before you sign a lease..check in about that inspection they did for structural damage. That crack might cause trouble later on. Never hurts to be cautious. Hope your day goes well, prayers for you always, XoXo

  5. A trip for you will be grand. Bet you can't wait! We change wiper blades ALL the time. It is a good thing my mister does it himself. I never could! We have winter blades and we have summer blades.

Hang in - the good season will be here starting 22 days from now. ;D

  7. Thanks for the reminder about DST. I didn't realize it was coming up that soon. I don't like it, either.

    Love,

  8. Beth, We are having sunshine and very cold temperatures. Glad you got your running done. Yes, those wipers are way more expensive than when we were kids. They last longer...if they done get frozen to the windshield . I think you getting to go to see your sister with your brother will be some good medicine for all of you. I love family time. It won't be like when you were little and fought in the car while your parents drove. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  9. Yes, Beth, you are proof that God and His miracles exist....and should he want you to live in a house, I'd be willing to bet He will have that windfall blow right into you lap! I'm so excited for you to be going to visit your sister. You will have to take all of us along with you. I can't wait to see how happy everyone will be!!!

  10. Really? Born almost 100 years ago . . . I just read that on your side bar.

Happy you are going visiting soon . . . Good news about new windshield wipers to keep your vision "right on"! Amazing how that helps, isn't it!!

  11. We had left overs for lunch too. The plan to go out to eat with hubby fell apart as we started getting some flurries. Oh well.
I hope that you had some good lunch too. If you can skip some days, cleaning can always wait.

  12. Mary here: Beth, your photo at the top is gorgeous. Thank you for visiting Mario's blog. I will be writing one in a copy of days. Sorry I've been among the missing - too much going on with Mario and his social life on line. I think he's going to have to give something up. YAY - Spring is getting closer and I can't wait.

  13. I do not like DST either, and there are some legislators in our state who have a move underway to switch totally to DST! Not fun! I do not like darkness in the mornings. I guess that means I'm a "morning person.":-) Sorry about those windshield wipers.

Yay for a trip to visit your sister! That is truly something to anticipate!

Yes, yet another Polar Vortex seems to be on the move. Stay warm!

  14. To say that we all are tired of this weather would be an epic understatement. Oh how exciting that trip will be. Will keep a prayer going for nothing to prevent it. I am in total agreement with you on DST. It is unnecessary.

  15. I am probably one of the few who loves Spring cleaning. I look at it as a time for a new beginning, a renewal, refreshing change.

  18. Dear Beth...I've been off line for awhile and have wondered how you are feeling. REALLY GOOD, I hope. :)
I think everyone is so ready for warmer weather...we sure are. I don't look forward to spring as we have lots of wind and sand in the spring. But, oh, we can have some beautiful summer days here on the Plains of West Texas.

  19. I don't like the time change either. It will be dark again in the morning when I walk.
How nice that you will be able to have a visit with your sister after so long. : )

  20. Sounds like things are getting better for you as we get closer to spring. We need new wipers on the car too. I need to ask my son which he thinks are best. :) It is wonderful to have a reunion like that to look forward to and coming up in the nor too distant future. Keep the faith and enjoy each day, Beth.

Oh I do like day light saving, and will hate it when our clock has to be turned back I think at the end of March.
    Keep warm.
