at 7 below zero. The countdown till Spring stands at 38 days! The snow is still laying heavy on the ground. The sun is shining brightly so that is a big plus.
This picture was taken through my bedroom window this morning. The screen gives the photo a unique look. You can still see behind the driveway the snow piled up which I am so sick of. I was talking with my son the other day and he asked me if I liked the snow and the bitter cold. I said no and asked him if he liked it. He told me that he knew that on one day there would be heavy snow and on the second night the temp would fall below zero. He said that he didn’t think anything more about it because that is the way this winter has been. And oh, so very true. If I didn’t have to keep cleaning my car off and going out in the bitter cold I might learn again to appreciate the beauty of snow because it really is beautiful when it is coming down. I do have one thing to say in its favor, it is better than ice.
I am going to get stuff ready for the tax accountant today. I am always glad to get that taken care of. Taxes are the part of February that I don’t like. My daughter was born on Valentine’s Day so that makes February special.
I hope this week is a really good one for us all. Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Oh to be a child again and see the snow for the FUN that it is and not the WORK that it is. I like the quiet that the snow brings but the rumble of the snow plows means we have to shovel.. NOT FUN. Hope your day goes well and you stay warm and well in it. Prayers always for you XoXo
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your daughter. That is nice to have a Valentine Birthday!
ReplyDelete(i am not liking taxes this year, either. usually i can muddle through okay.) at least the sun is out there! stay warm!
ReplyDeleteDo I see Blue skies Beth, hoping it doesn't stay around too long though that Snow. Love the Capture ..oh a Birthday on Valentines day how wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good day and stay warm. Hugs Sheila x
Beth...it's just too darn cold where you live! I hope your niece is restored to good health very soon. The pineapple cake must have been divine!
ReplyDeleteI know you are sick of the snow and cleaning off your car. How nice that your daughter was born on Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteLike you, I always feel tremendous relief once all the tax paperwork is gathered together and with the accountant.
Lovely effect that photo.
ReplyDeleteKeep warm, enjoy getting your papers ready for the taxes.
I love when the sky is blue and the sun is shining. It makes the snow look so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have a Valentine baby. : )
Beth, I wish your daughter a very happy birthday. That would make it a very special day indeed. I really don't like tax time much. It is just getting all the right paperwork...although I try to do it as the year goes by. Shouldn't retirement be more fun than this? LOL. We are having a very cold day and tomorrow will be worse. Keep warm. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteYou too, Beth. Stay safe and be happy. 38 more days, is it? Bertie
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your Valentine's daughter. I'll be so glad for you when your snow is gone.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Hi Beth, My daughter has started to say, we would be better off with the snow, than this unrelenting rain and floods. Not too sure myself, don't really like either, as you say the snow can be very pretty and we do need the rain, but just perhaps not quite this much. I am still look forward to spring. Hugs Nita.
ReplyDeleteYou are right Beth!! If I didn't have a garage and if I had anywhere I HAD to go, I probably would not love it sooooo much!!
ReplyDeleteI like your image!!
Lovely photo, Beth!
ReplyDeleteYou have been having a really cold and snowy winter! I prefer the snow to ice, too, but locations to the south of us have a good chance of receiving some ice and snow at some point Tuesday. Take care, and stay warm and safe! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your daughter. From a GA girl, I so want some snow. We had 2 inches that was gone the next day. Snow gives me the feeling of peace and tranquility.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't seem that 38 days till Spring will be nearly long enough to get rid of our snow this year. Great photo thru the screen. Your son has his head on straight- there is not much we can do about it but roll with the punches (or snowball). xo Diana
ReplyDeleteStay warm:)
ReplyDeleteYes snow is most definitely better than ice. Those snow piles are getting huge!
ReplyDeleteWe are in Alabama, where it is raining, sleeting and snowing...a cold mess. Stay safe and warm.
ReplyDeleteCold and taxes...not a pleasant combination. We are warmer but still waiting on some info to go get our taxes done. Today is supposed to be wild weather but I must go get my license renewed...ah well.
ReplyDeleteOh, my word....I don't see how you handle those cold temps, especially so many days in a row. My old bones ache just thinking about it!!! HOPE you get the taxes done and spring gets here really soon!!!
ReplyDeleteMy second daughter was born on Valentine's Day as well which is why the day is special for me and Tim. I have seen snow a few times in my life and liked it but it doesn't snow where I live
