Another cold Monday….

at 6 below zero.  We got about 6 inches of snow all totaled and the temperature plummeted.  It is bright and sunny this morning.  It is supposed to warm up a bit gradually this week.  I hope so as I have appointments with my oncologist and surgeon on Friday.  There are 16 more days till Spring.

I went out yesterday afternoon to clean the snow off my car.  When they clean the driveway they blow the snow high behind my car and when they snow blow the sidewalk they blow it up against my tires.  Yesterday about finished me off as it was so cold and the snow was the heavy kind.  I am really hoping this was our last major snowfall of the year as my poor old body can’t take much more.

From the shrub behind the garage at my old home taken 18 April 2006.  I don’t have anything beautiful like that in my yard here.  Just a magnificent old oak tree in the front yard and lots of squirrels.  I haven’t seen a bird all winter.  Since I am renting I can’t put up a bird feeder.

I am busy doing laundry this morning.  Then I need to do some dusting and cleaning.

I hope you all have a good week.  Stay safe and be happy!

Beth

  1. So sorry that someone is making cleaning off your car such a chore! It shouldn't oughta be. And I can certainly agree with you that it would be lovely if this was the last major snow of the season. Sixteen days! Woot! I am also cleaning this morning, but every now and then I just have to visit. I am totally addicted to blogs!

  2. I predicted this was the last big snowfall...my kids cringed telling me not to jinx it, I think this winter has traumatized us!

  4. I'm with you about hoping this is the last big snow. I told my hubby that I hope it's the last time I'll be shoveling snow. I'm doing laundry this morning too. Went to put the clothes in the dryer -- realized I forgot to start the washer! Yep, it's that kind of day.

  8. Beth, I too am hoping that was our last big snow. I am ready for 40 degree weather. I'll sit on my porch with a coat on, just to be out. Take care, hope you make your appointments. xoxo,Susie

  9. Please take it easy, Beth. If you get more snow, then ask someone to clean off your car. I'm afraid you're working too hard in the cold.

    Love,
    Janie

  10. We have had some robins hopping about our yard for a few weeks. I hope they have found someplace warm during this return to winter we are having today! Brrr! I hope you are able to make your appointments on Friday. Take care of yourself. Is there someone around who could help with that snow removal? xo Nellie

  11. I too hope we are at the end of snow storms, I doubt it, but I am hoping. As I pulled down my driveway this morning with the snow banks higher than the car and almost impossible to see if there is a car traveling down the road . . . I found myself saying, "enough already . . ." I am saying that for you too. Please be careful out there shoveling off your car!!

  13. You have my sympathy, Beth. We have been lucky here in western Washington. We are having rain but this week are getting the first signs of spring. Highs in the 50's and lows in the 40's. I welcome this change. But we have had nothing like the rest of our country. Stay safe. I hope your doctor appointments are good news. Bertie

  15. Hope your appointment goes well. Sounds a bit unfair regarding the snow being piled up against the wheels. You sound totally tired of the cold weather.

  16. I think it is mean that you can't have a bird feeder! Very cold here at 9AM we had 27° and we already have ice in the puddles. This IS unusual weather! Just try to get through it all and keep as warm as you can.

  17. I bet you feel like taking the guys snow blower and shoving it up his ass when you see how much more work you have to do, or is that just something I would want to do.
