Spring has sprung and the sun’s not hid
I saw more robins, yes I did!!
And that is my contribution to poetry. A poet I am not!
It is a beautiful day. The sun is shining brightly with hardly any wind and the temp is in the 50s. It actually feels like spring today.
I have been to Kroger’s and picked up a few things which amounted to almost $80. You see, our Kroger store is in the process of remodeling and they have several rows of clearance items and for some reason I can’t pass up a bargain whether I need it or not. On the downside they are changing all of the aisles around and it takes forever to find anything. It took me 4 years to know where everything in the store was and now I have to learn all over again.
Tomorrow I make the raisin pie, brownies, macaroni salad, and potato salad. I found a recipe on the internet for macaroni salad with bacon and ranch dressing, etc. I have decided on that recipe. I probably won't be online for the next couple of days.
Enjoy this lovely day that He has given us! Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
that made me laugh. thanks for the poem. :)
ReplyDeleteoooohhhh Beth, bacon and ranch, that's going to be awesome!! If that's good, maybe you could share the recipe!!
ReplyDeleteYou sure have been counting down! YEAH!
ReplyDeleteHooray dear Beth, Spring is finally here. Your weather is better than ours right now. But I am ever so happy. Happy birthday to your son...I know you are making his favorite things to eat. Hope your time together is blessed. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break. Enjoy the presence of Spring. We are all ready.
ReplyDeleteWe have FINALLY arrived at Spring! Thanks for the count. Now we will be warm and happier! I like your poem.
ReplyDeleteI love your poem, Beth! It is difficult for me to pass up a bargain, too. The pantry is too full of "bargains.":-) One of my favorite stores to shop did one of those remodeling things, and I don't know where anything is anymore! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteThat must be a first for you Beth, having a break, I wish I had your dedication in posting almost daily, I hope you enjoy your Macaroni salad, sounds good,
ReplyDeleteYour poem was as good as any I could make up LOL Take care and smell the roses if they're out. XX
great poem, and the salad, yummo!
ReplyDeleteLove the poem! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it was actually spring there for you. : )
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about them changing things around in the store. When I shopped at the commissary they were changing it around all the time.
WooHoo! It's officially spring! Enjoy visiting with your family!
ReplyDeleteHi, Beth...your blog looks so springy and pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe had a pretty day here today...a little windy but no sand.
Raisin Pie...??? Never tried one but I'm not a fan of raisins. If I eat them, I like the golden raisins pretty good. I like pecan pie better....:)
Have fun at the birthday celebration. April is a birthday month for us, too.
Son in Law on the 1st...Mr. Sweet's on the 10th and also our 54th wed. anniversary, Daughter on the 29th.....
We had the same type of weather, though I couldn't enjoy it because of work. However this being New England we stand a good chance of snow in a few days. As the old saying goes if you don't like the weather, wait a minute.
ReplyDeleteI like your poem! You may have an untapped talent.
Happy spring! What a lovely day you've described. Enjoy the preps for company and enjoy the company most especially!
ReplyDeleteIt went up to 53 degrees today....It felt wonderful!!! have a great day!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
Spring came in smiling here in Washington too. Sure does make the heart sing. Family time this weekend for us too. Yea! Bertie
ReplyDeleteCook you are and baker too,
ReplyDeleteI'd like to eat it all
Yes I would
So give me a call
Well you made it through your winter! Well done.
ReplyDeleteFinding things in any supermarket/type is always hard to find when things are moved. However it's amazing what else you find along the way.
Well, let me share what I see here,
ReplyDeleteA poet at large and I really fear
that we shall be hearing just some thing
about this season we call Spring.
Happy Spring, Beth!!!! xo Diana
I have been waiting SO long to wish Beth Marie HAPPY SPRING! I am so happy for you that you have sunshine on your shoulders! That birthday menu is fantastic! Hope you share your recipes!! Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, Like your poem and glad spring has arrived. We have retreated back a bit here in England, it is cold again, raining and some are forecasting snow. But spring was good whilst it lasted and hopefully it will return soon. :) Have a good weekend - Hugs Nita
ReplyDeleteI hope now that spring has sprung the weather warms up for you.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that spring has finally come to you. We shop at Kroger too. Our local Kroger stores are called Frys. They always have great bargains and managers specials. We are off to shop there this morning! Have a good weekend. So glad the sun is finally shining on you!
ReplyDeleteOooo I hate it when they change shelves about, Beth, I know they feel it'll maybe get us buying stuff we would't have seen otherwise, trouble is it gets me so mad, I just search until I find my wanted item and doggedly won't look elsewhere. Serve 'em right, And most of the other shoppers are doing the same. Spring has sprung, and the birds are definitely sounding out.. which is lovely to hear. warmest of hugs. xPenx
ReplyDeletestay safe & be happy Beth
ReplyDeletehugs
A humorous poet, indeed!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your yummy foods!! :)
Hi Beth Spring has indeed sprung the Daffodils are out happy to say. I just love Macaroni , I have a quick dish which includes Tuna fish, Tomatoes, and Cheese sauce. Popped in the Oven. Sprinkled with breadcrumbs almost forgot those. Have a few days break doing what you love to do.
ReplyDeleteTake care
Hugs Sheila x
My Publix rearranged two years ago. It took me forever to do my weekly shopping there until I finally figured out where they put everything! I hope that they don't rearrange again!
ReplyDeleteAnd I give thanks for those days each and every single one of them. :-)
