Spring has left….

please come back.  It was very chilly and windy yesterday morning. It is in the 20s now but the sun is shining brightly and that is a big plus.

I wore my winter coat , hat and gloves to go shopping at Bergners yesterday for their Black Friday sale.  I don’t know why I get sucked into their sales.  They did advertise towels at buy 1 and get 2 free.  I did take advantage of that although I saw some at the K-Mart this week which actually felt much nicer.  And I found a summer T which I kind of like but not madly in love with.  I have this burning question each time I go clothes shopping, ‘Why is everything all gauzy see through with the neckline cut almost to the belly button?’  I am not talking about the junior section.  I am talking about the woman’s section.  I wear a size 10 and a size 7 shoe which always makes me wonder why everything I like in the shoes has no size 7, just 8, 9, 10, or 11.  I am always told it is because  size 7 is the most popular size.  So because of that please tell me your shoe size (only if you want) and I will take a poll and let you know in tomorrow’s post what the most popular size is.  That’s OK Paul, you can tell us your shoe size too!

You know there is one nice thing about living in a rental place.  I needed a couple of things done here yesterday.  I called the office and within 2 hours there were 2 guys here and poof, problem solved.  After 4 years here I know all of the guys in maintenance and they are great!

Tomorrow my daughter is being honored at both services for her 25 years service to her church.  There will be a reception and I will attend.

A few things that made me happy this morning.

1.  I got out of bed!

2.  I could see when I opened my eyes!

3.  I was able to make my bed!

4.  I was able to get dressed without help!

5.  I had food to eat!

6.  My house was warm!

Thank you God for another day!

I hope this is a good day for you all.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. I like your list Sis..Same here my needs met for today. My shoe size is 7 1/2,
sometimes a wide fits better depending on the shoe. I totally agree though 7 is the size that goes the quickest. Clothes now days are made with the younger set in mind. I just layer things and take off what I need to.I detest the wild colors though and won't buy them. Glad the fellas came when you called and had troubles.. nice to know help is available and WILL show up. Prayers for you always, XoXo

  3. Thank you, Beth, for these reminders of the things for which we need to remember to be grateful!

My shoe size has changed through the years. I now wear a 8 1/2, though one foot is a half size larger than the other, so some 8 1/2 shoes are too big on one foot. Shoe shopping is not my favorite thing to do, though I do love shoes. It is really difficult to find shoes that feel comfortable on my feet at this point. xo Nellie

  4. I used to love shopping for shoes...one could always find something that fit; however, I do not enjoy it anymore. I wear a size 8 and I think that IT is the most popular size. ☺

  5. I know what you mean about see through skimpy clothes. What I look for (and rarely find) or the 3/4 sleeved blouses or shirts. I really like that extra amount of sleeve and wonder why they don't make more. I used to wear a 7 1/2 but now buy an 8 1/2 (I have to be able to fit my orthodics in them). So glad you can do all on your list---don't forget to smile and laugh every day!

  7. Early spring can be a fickle thing but I know it will become more consistent once we get into it. I see 70s in our forecast finally...I just hope it doesn't change its mind. Good to rejoice over everything we possibly can!

  8. I don't like shoes and go sock or barefooted all the time and only wear shoes to grocery shop or go to laundromat or for necessary times. I have 2 pr. sneakers size 8 and one pair of dress shoe size 71/2 - flat, of course. I have WAY too many towels - all cotton and in excellent shape. Anybody want to come and get them? Free! Nice list. I would add that I didn't fall down.

  9. Hi Beth, Yes I am a size seven shoe and a bit larger than a size 10, but often I find my size is sold out also.

    Enjoy the weekend. Hugs Nita.

  10. Interesting post, Beth. My shoe size is 10m. When I was young it was 10AA. All I could ever find in that size was old lady's shoe style. Now a lot more people seem to have larger feet. My mom had size 7 and my daughter size 6 !/2. Enjoy your day. Bertie.

  11. Beth, It's good to count our blessings. You know what I say when I see sales racks with nothing but very small sizes....why order those and not more of the sizes that sell??I hate all the wide scooped necklines and deep vees.....pleeeease, I sure do not want my everything hanging out.:):) Hope you are getting a warm up. the sun is at least out now. But boy I was chilly this morning. xoxo,Susie

  16. Dear Beth - I loved your thoughts on how nice it was to get up this morning. You hit those points right on the head too. We need to be thankful for each day, even if they are crummy weather wise. Congratulations to your daughter. You are also "right on" with your comments regarding clothes. Oh, shoe size - I wear a 9 1/2 C. My foot has been spreading just like the rest of my body. LOL

  18. My daughters tell me that the thin, gauzy shirts are for layering and we're supposed to wear a tank or second t-shirt under it. I agree with you about the low-cut, too thin shirts. My shoe size is a 7. I like your list of things that made you happy this morning!

  19. What a wonderful list.
Simple things that we take for granted.

  20. Hi Beth - great list of things to be thankful for. We all have so much when we really think about it! I'm with you on low cut, thin shirts. I like being and feeling modest - especially when I stand in front of a classroom full of teenagers! So great your daughter gives so much service to her church. Hope spring returns to you soon! Have a great day.

  21. A great happy list indeed, and yeah I don't get the latest fashion when the tops are cut way to low and so thin you wonder what the makers were thinking, I take a size 7-8 in shoes and often find it hard to get shoes in my size

  22. Oh yes great list of thank you's for sure.

    Be safe Beth as well.

  23. I'm looking at your list and thinking I need to learn much more about you, since I'm new around here. Perhaps we have a few things in common. Guess I'll find out eventually!
