And the rain….

just keeps on coming!  Thunderstorms off and on since last week.  We are close to 8 inches of rain for the month of June.  Everything is gorgeously green here in preparation for the drought which usually hits us in July and August.

I am doing laundry this morning and trying to decide what comes next.  It is really rather boring taking care of a smaller place after maintaining a house.  Most times I look around and think what difference does it make because I am only renting.  Then it all kicks in, the fact that I don’t like anything to be untidy and then I drag out the vacuum and start in cleaning.

The rain has also slowed the work being done on 2 of the tornado damaged  houses catty corner across the street from me.

I just took this picture this morning.  If you click on the picture to make it larger you will notice around the corner a couple of houses that have already been rebuilt.  Where the foundation has been dug out for the second house is filled with water now.  I really feel sorry for these people.

My laundry is done now and I am talking myself into making a chicken pot pie using Grand’s biscuits.

  4. I don't seem to have the problem of wanting to clean a bigger space! You could probably make good money cleaning other people's places, actually. That chicken pot pie looks yummy...and probably much fewer calories than traditional pot pie, which is ridiculously high.

    1. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever want to clean anyone else's house. Family or friends if they needed me yes, otherwise a big NO!!

  11. I get a shiver every time you mention a tornado.
At least you had weather that would want to make you stay in. I had a beautiful day and stayed in. Of course there was the laundry...lots and lots of laundry.
    Too bad I just ate.

  12. I love that chicken pot pie idea. I am going to give that a try! Could you please send some of the rain out here to Arizona, but just the rain. No thank you on the tornadoes. Been there, done that. Hope things dry out just a bit for you.

  14. We could use some of your rain. We're behind over 5 inches from our average rainfall at this time of the year. Wonderful chicken pot pie!

A bit of a problem with my Blogger Dashboard today. I am seeing only one post at a time of those that I follow, and when I send the command to view more, there is no action.:-(
