It is still hot and humid…

and we are under a severe thunderstorm watch (number 479) today.  It is so humid it takes your breath away when you go out.  And, I did go out this morning.  I picked up my daughter and she went with me downtown.  I am practicing driving downtown trying to get used to all of the one way streets.  There are a lot of them and they are all chopped up.

Then we grocery shopped and later went to Avanti’s where we had lasagna with green salad and homemade bread for lunch.  It was great.  I love Italian food.  I purchased a new sweeper at K*Mart.  It is still in the trunk of my car as I am waiting for my son-in-law to come over and carry the box in.  I hope it doesn’t require much putting together.  I have already put together several things I bought since I moved here.  I really would prefer that things come already put together.

I see my mail lady is coming so I am going in the kitchen to get her a diet Pepsi.  I really feel sorry for the ones that have to be outside in the heat and humidity.  I am in the house now hoping the air conditioner keeps chugging away.

I really have nothing to say today, just touching base with you all.  A note for Kerrie in Australia.  “I will not leave spaces entirely as long as I have loyal friends on spaces such as you.”

  1. You are bolder than I to go out an about in this weather. It sounds like you had a full day already. I hope the vacuum just needs pulling out of the box. Keep cool and I bet the post lady will love the pop.

  2. Drippin' humidity still here, too. I can hardly wait until Fall.
You're so right about things having to be put together. I do it all the time and grumble the entire time. I was dying to buy a grill and then saw I'd have to put it together. Think I bought it? Heck, no. Now the vacuum was a cinch. Just put the bag in and took out the little extra things that attach and loaded them onto the cleaner. Mine is an upright. I hope yours is as easy, but that box is heavy!

  3. Dear Beth Marie, I don't get it. Everytime I go to my blogspot I see the photos, even without signing into my Google account. Yes indeed this is a hot week and hope you are keeping cool. As ever be well

  4. Well we got a one day reprieve from the heat and humidity. It is in the 70's with a clear sky and low humidity but it all comes back tomorrow and will last into the middle of next week. The ac is taking a break but I dread seeing my electric bill.
I wish I could take you to the North End. Not for just the historic sites but for the food. Just magnificent.
Oh and thanks for your reply concerning transferring post from Spaces to here.

  5. The heat and humidity are steadily building here and the forecast is for a sweltering weekend. I'll be stuck in the house until this weather system moves out but I have plenty to keep me occupied including a book I've been meaning to read.

  6. Like everyone else, I hate that kind of weather. I'm also not very fond of being stuck inside because it's too darned hot to do anything (except sweat) outside. Hoping a cold front comes your way soon.
