To testify or not to testify…

that is the question.  Blagojevich elected to not testify yesterday at his corruption trial.  Was this a risky move or not?  I have been reading about it and listening to it on radio and TV.  Everyone has a different opinion about this. Remember what opinions are like, we all have one.   It definitely will effect the closing arguments on both sides I think.  I would have loved to have been on that jury.  I think the case should have been tried in downstate Illinois because we are the ones who have been the most effected by his corruption.  By that statement I just said which way I would vote.  My fervent hope is that he joins George Ryan in his cell.  Maybe the two of them together can figure out a way to clean up the financial mess our state is in because of them.

And now for that mundane, boring topic called weather.  We have received over 3 inches of rain here in the last two days.  I had the misfortune of being caught in the downpour yesterday afternoon and getting thoroughly soaked. Now that really did put me out of sorts.  More rain predicted for today.

Paul, I was glad to see you post again today.  I am also happy you have been getting some rain.  It is nice to share the wealth.  ;-)

  1. I'm with you on that jerk. I think he's afraid to testify as he'll really seal his fate if he does. Hope you can find a place to get away from your humidity! It's a killer!

  3. Beth I was never a daily poster but at times your days get consumed and before you know it several days pass before you get to step back and take a breath. Today I am breathing again.
As far as political corruption goes we here in Ma. take a back seat to nobody. Our last three speakers of the house were indicted on various charges including the first one who's brother is Whitey Bulger. He's on the F.B.I.'s 10 most wanted list. The political hacks are everywhere.

  4. Everyone in the world knows what he is, including himself. Opening his mouth would do no good in trying to make him look anything other than what he is. Dead meat is what he's going to be after this trial, I'm sure. Maybe they'll even cut his hair! Blessed be the day, lol. You'll get your wish, Beth. Just think, one down and hundreds to go.
    I want your rain. Period.
By the way, Beth, THANK YOU for posting the rave reviews about the Ramblingon and Blogzilla blogs. I went, I read, I loved, and now I follow :D

  5. We've had rain every day here in Houston for over 30 days. July is the wettest ever, since 1943. That's a lot of rain. We're normally not like that!

I think it was a smart idea not to testify. There were too many ways that the prosecution could have gotten him to look like a bigger fool than he already is!

  6. Y'all send that rain this way. Jenny and I can really use it!

As too Blagojevich, from what I've seen of him on television I think his best move is to exercise his constitutional right against self incrimination and keep his big mouth shut. The only politicians I've seen recently with a greater capacity for stuffing their feet in their mouths were George W. Bush and Sarah Palin. Please don't assume that I'm painting all Republicans with the same brush. I'm just calling a dufus a dufus.

  7. hi beth, Just want you to know, I would never knowlingly say anything to upset you, or offend you. As I have said on live spaces, I never find you boring and you are a dear friend. As you rightly say, it is your space and your opinions are valid whatever, on the subject of boring weather, well I got soaked today too, boring or not the weather is a reality for us all. take care, love ya - nita

  8. Good day to you Beth! I do try to keep up with politics around the world but I must say it's pretty hard for me to understand how all the cogs work and fall into place. It does sadden and concern me greatly when there is corruption by those in higher authority, we trust them to make wise choices concerning the nation and to look after people. I've never been called up for Jury Duty but I think I'd be a nervous wreck full of worry. My lawn needs a mow today, after that send some prayers for some of that glorious liquid sunshine to fill our skies and water the soil. Wishing you a terrific Thursday! With love and care from Kerrie. xOx

  12. I am guilty of not watching the news. I dont' have a TV in the house. I have to go down to the greenhouse to watch TV. If and when I do it is to watch a movie or something mindless like funnest videos. The news is always so depressing and makes me sad.
