The week to come…

Just sitting here thinking and reminiscing about my beloved (NOT!) bean tree. And enjoying the thought of all of those lovely beans floating down to the yard and the roof for the new owners of my old home to enjoy.  Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.  I hope this will be its most prolific year to date.

It is the start of a brand new week.  It is a lovely clear day to be in the mid to upper 80s and no rain in sight.  The heat wave is back tomorrow.
My daughter will be busy every day this week with Bible School.  She loves working with ‘her kids.’  I am planning to try some more driving downtown to see if I can conquer the one way streets.  It would be really nice if I could find my way to the post office and library by myself. This is a real challenge for a small town gal.  Champaign had no one way streets that I am aware of and that city is almost 4 times larger than this city.  I drove there all over with no problem.  I just have to build up my confidence and tackle these chopped up one way streets.
Blagojevich’s trial should wind up today.  It will be very interesting to see how long the jury deliberates before they find him guilty.  Our present governor is no better.  He gave all of his top aides raises this spring.  I am voting for Brady in November.  It is about time for an honest governor as there hasn’t been one in Illinois for a long time.  There, I broke my main rule of no politics discussed in my blog.  LOL  I suspect I will have a lot more to say on this in the next few days.
I need to get my day moving along as I am such a busy person.  ;-)  I hope this is a blessed week for us all.
Beth

  1. I'm busy as well. I know I haven't been around for a couple of days but sometimes there is just so much to do.
One way streets, tell me about them!

  2. Beth, I was thinking about your bean tree just the other day. As I was backing out of my driveway, I looked over at my next door neighbors "new" tree that he planted last year. Omg, I'm positive I see pods hanging off of it. When I leave for my appts today, I'm taking my camera and hopefully can get a shot of that and see what's what. "Please Lord, let there be no pods".
(If you take these sentences, divide by 2, then you can pretend there are 3 comments left; I knew I could do it, lol)

  3. Hi there Small Town Gal,
Are you by any chance being facetious about that tree?.. ;-) warm and fuzzy eh?..
Fingers crossed that you conquer the route system quickly, mind you, I can't drive, so you're one up on me for starters!!...
Gotta go, just having a pampering day today, hair wash and shower, but drying it's the thing, then straightening, (the hair I mean, not me)... takes quite a while, and I have to take it slow or I'll get tied in knots, ( me I mean not the hair!! )
have a lovely day, afternoon, and evening.. xx

  5. Made me think of the song eatin goober beans er peas? Hubby virtually drove to the hospital on google map to know the route and landmarks and it worked! Blagovich isn't the only crooked man and I hope justice is served. You are so right about the 100 years!

  6. That was a monstrous bean tree. Thank heaven you no longer have to worry ever again about it. Drive by Thanksgiving and laugh!!!!
It is stifling horribly humid and hot. I have been in all day but then, the painting took till 1400..so..no use going out now.

I still have tomatoes..come on over.

  7. I had to chuckle.. that bean tree is someone else's misery now eh? Gonna be warm here this week but not too rainy I am happy about that. Hope you get some time to sit back and relax too. I absolutely agree about the one way streets.. HATE THEM! I nearly got hit on one once and that was enough for me. Battle Creek is full of those and they make me NUTS.. don't drive there unless I really HAVE to though..
    Take care :D

  8. Wishing a bumper crop on the new owners.....Beth, you is EVIL!

Heat wave broke here and I even made it outdoors to shoot a few frames. Weather guessers are calling for BELOW average temperatures for the next couple days followed by seasonal temperatures and a chance of scattered showers and thundershowers every day for at least a week. We need the rain!

Good luck with the one way streets. You'll get the hang of negotiating them.
