WOW!!

I am worn out from facing Black Friday.  No, I didn’t go at midnight like a lot of people.  My niece and I left at 8 AM.  I went by the post office and mailed a package to Australia.  Then to K Mart and Wal*Mart and finished off at Culvers for lunch.  I definitely am through with my Christmas shopping now and much poorer for it.   Thanksgiving morning my daughter and I went out early in the morning and I bought the bargains.

The Thanksgiving meal with Mike’s brother’s family was very nice.  Lots of good food, way too much to mention.  I had quite a time getting all of their family straight, who belonged to who (or is it whom?) etc.  But it was fun and they were all very nice to me.  Rousing games of Uno and Trouble were played with Tessa (who is almost 5) taking an active part.  That child is really bright!

It is sunny today but windy and very cold.  It is 32 degrees and I don’t think it will get much higher today.   I guess winter is here.

I hope you all had a very nice holiday and remembered to count your blessings.

Red heart  Beth

  1. Hi Beth,

Glad you had such a good time. I posted my package for australia on wednesday, so maybe they will arrive around the same time. I have been through a bit of a traumatic time in the last couple of days, I blogged about it yesterday, then almost deleted it, but although I left it on my blog, it is not on any updates. It was probably far too negative for thanksgiving day anyway. I had my interview today and it went very well and I know the Lord was control of me and my emotions, I was able to give my testimony clearly and coherently without any of the dreaded tears, so that was no small thing to be thankful for. Have a good weekend, I have almost finished my christmas shopping, but not completely and funds are diminishing. Also we are in an icy artic grip again, we dont have snow yet but probably will by the middle of next week. Hugs Nita.

  2. Hi Beth, No shopping for me today, but my wife went this morning while I was sleeping. It rained this morning and most of the snow is gone. I like snow, but I'm glad I can get around easier now. I hope you have a nice weekend!

  3. Beth, I LOVE your new header! It's GORGEOUS!
Black Friday shopping is something else, isn't it? I can't decide if all those people that land at the store at 3 and 4 in the morning are totally crazy or smarter than the rest, but...this morning I had no intention of fighting those crowds and then in a blink my bedroom old tv died. Well, I guess it couldn't have happened at a better time if it had to be; so I headed out to the store and bought a new one at a GREAT price and much bigger and oh so light in weight. Wow, these new tvs are really nice! So I just finished hooking it all up and now Dr Phil is talking away. I'm pleased as punch. I went from a 13" to a 32" LOL. I can actually see it from bed now and not have to get up and sit on the trunk. Oh yeahhhh, I spoiled myself rotten today :D
As for Christmas shopping, I did most of it last month and only have a little tiny tad left. YAY!
    BIG hugs to you ~~

  8. Hi Beth, I have finally made it here to your blog. Love the theme! Christmas, yikes! Another year almost done and dusted. Life is going way too fast. As Jaiden just said to me yesterday, "Just when you get use to everything the way it is, it all changes", he was talking about school being almost over for the year and having to start again with a new teacher next year. Anyway, You have a lot of news to catch up on, so I'm going to do my best to stay for a while and read up on what's been going on. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. We have missed you, more than you know! All our love, all the time, Kerrie and Jaiden. xOx

  9. Well it's starting to feel a little like Christmas here. I so use to love changeing my theme all the time at spaces, just can't seem to find the time anymore. Had to take the whole day off today just to sit here and try and catch up with some of my friends here. Which I am very thankful for. I am also thankful that I don't have any Christmas shopping to do. Family all lives to far away and if I do see them I usally make something. Last year it was photo calenders. so nice to hear you had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with family. We are going for Turkey tomorrow to some friends but not for thanksgiving. Their kids won't be home for Christmas so but are there now so thought they would do dinner then and invite us. Oh no cooking. Ya seems I have been doing alot of that lately. Ok time to end this prattling. I have been at this computer for about 5 hours now. Not even half way thru catching up. My provider will be shutting me down soon I am sure as when I do this I go over my download limit. So take care Hugs Carrie

  10. I had a very nice Thanksgiving Beth. I was careful on the meal because I wanted to let loose on the deserts. It's usually the other way around.
    It was cold yesterday.

  11. Did all my shopping online and only used one credit card to so it instead of maxing them all out as usual. This year was easy. The girls sent me hyperlinks to exactly what they wanted and all I had to do was hit Amazon for the best prices. Now I'm a little worried. This was just too easy.

  12. Like your background! You were brave to go out yesterday to shop. I HAD to run to WalMart yesterday, but the crowds weren't too bad. Got in and out quickly as planned. Since it's only about 5 miles from home, I do run in there to pick up certain things which are WAY cheaper than the other stores---especially bread! No shopping sprees for us this year, but I'm making most of my gifts myself...

  14. Blessings....
I have never been to a black friday event. I heard it supposed to be spectacular but it just sounds stressful.

  16. Hi Beth, Your parcel still hasn't arrived, so I did some back tracking on your blogs to find the date you posted it. I will ask the manager at the post office. He is such a lovely and helpful fellow. I was wondering, did you post the package air mail? I know if it's not marked airmail, packages can take between 6-8 weeks. Anyway, will wait and see what the fellow says at the post office. I'm sure it will still make it's way here safely. Love and Hugs, Kerrie. xOx
