Yes, I did…

I started my Christmas shopping yesterday.  My daughter and I went to Kohls in East Peoria where I managed to spend a big chunk.  That did include a new winter coat for me and several Christmas presents.  Then afterwards we ate at the China Buffet.  It was not bad as there was a lot of American food there.  I don’t like Chinese food as it seems to me that there is cabbage in everything.  Lots of different desserts too.  You should remember as I am telling you about these places we eat at that I only eat one plateful of food.  Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to waddle.  Winking smile  Plus I workout every day and that helps too.

A friend of my daughter got tickets for us and we are going to see Don Williams Sunday night at the Peoria Civic Center.  Most of you have probably never heard of him.  He is a classic country artist who ranks right there with George Jones and Johnny Cash.  Williams is best known for his # 1 hit You’re My Best Friend.  I love that song.

“You placed gold on my finger
You brought love like I've never known
You gave life to our children
And to me, a reason to go on.

Chorus:

You're my bread when I'm hungry
You're my shelter from troubled winds
You're my anchor in life's ocean
But most of all, you're my best friend.

When I need hope and inspiration
You're always strong when I'm tired and weak.
I could search this whole world over
You'd still be everything that I need.”

I am doing laundry this morning.  I have one load finished and one in the dryer.  I am planning to go to visit my sister’s grave today and put some flowers in her vase.  Her birthday is November 5.  Then I have to go by the pharmacy and pick up some prescriptions so it will be a busy morning.

Stay safe and be happy.

Red heart  Beth

  8. Mmmm, Don Williams is terrific. I have LOTS of albums by him, lol.
Christmas shopping. I've started, too. In fact I started a week ago, but just for little things. I do this thing for my neighbors up and down the street each Christmas. I make up little Chritmas bags with goodies, and little gifts packed to the brim and then attach cards telling each of them how much and why I appreciate them. It's so much fun and I love doing it. I have everything but the bags and need to get those and wow, I'm glad you reminded me, lol.
Sure is good reading you again, Beth. Always a treat :D xoxoxo

  13. So you are saying at present you CAN waddle? And do you do so?

I have heard a load of reasons people don't like - or eat - Chinese food, but I have to admit that cabbage is a new one on me. I thought that was possibly the only food that no one dislike especially - or even thought about, really.

It seems that in the vague cobwebs of memory I have a ghostly recollection of someone named Don Williams that I liked. Who sang "Oh Lonesome Me"? Someone with a name like that. Oh, was it Don Gibson? I like George Jones, but I am not otherwise much into country - OK, Emmylou, but she is SO much more than country...
