Where did Monday go…

Here it is Tuesday, over a week has passed and I am still not feeling like my old self.  My niece came over yesterday and took me to the grocery store.  After all of the walking in the store by last night I had quite a bit of pain again.  So today I do nothing again, which I am very tired of doing.  But I am here to complain about it and for that I am ever thankful.

I woke up this morning to 23 degrees and several inches of snow on the ground, a good day for cooking something, perhaps a pot of beans and some cornbread.  Something on the stove that can simmer for awhile without me having to watch it.  My house is beginning to need some attention in the cleaning department, also some laundry to do, but those things can wait.

I worry about my friend Kerrie in Australia.  She lives in the area which is flooding http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/2011/01/11/2011-01-11_australia_flood_death_toll_rises_as_raging_waters_threaten_brisbane_nations_thir.html  I am praying for her and her son and all of her fellow countrymen.

So I guess I won’t complain about the snow here either as it is only 68 days till Spring.

My friend Carole is on my mind so much these days.  Her ‘Miss Catt’ has been very ill.  We have all been praying with her.

Lots of time to sit and think for me lately.

Red heart  Beth

  1. Morning Beth, Sorry your still have pain. I know it's hard to take it easy when you're use to being able to come and go with ease, so I hope you are pain free soon.

  2. A good morning to you. I sure hope your pain eases up quickly. I pray Kerrie and the people down there. This blogging family sure brings you in touch and shrinks the world, doesn't it.

  9. We got a little snow on top of yesterdays. Now it warmed up a little and melted some just in time for 13F tonight.
I hope you will feel better tomorrow, stay warm. I had left over Pintos, no cornbread. I'm having to cut back and watch the BP.
I hope Kerrie and her son are OK. I thought of Michiko, not knowing that Kerrie is down there.
Sleep well and warm tonight, Beth.

  10. Seriously, I need a day once in a while where there are no demands on me and I can just kick back and order pizza and watch movies. Not a waste if I'm relaxed and ready for tomorrow's stresses. That's the stuff life is made of! Sometimes we just need a break... we all deserve a day off now and then from day to day routines and stress! (Or at least that's what I convince myself!)

  11. Sorry to hear about your pain Beth a sign to go easy today. Leaving something on the stove sounds just the ticket , go off and read a book or watch a good movie. Housework can wait, better things to do enjoy your Tuesday Beth. My heart goes out to those all those in Australia, feel helpless but I pray for them. Hugs Sheilax

Beth, I suffer after being on those concrete floors...I have to lean on the shopping cart to get through the store...that's why I don't do it much anymore...it does help to wear the sketchers shape up type shoe...there's more cushion to them...I'm so glad you have people there to help you...it was a good move...

  18. I enjoyed my time I couldn't do anything. But I am paying now being over loaded trying to get everthing ready to head south for the remainder of the winter. We had over 2 feet of snow today makeing it a total of 3 feet. Seems there is something simmering on my woodstove all the time. It's 1am and I have a pot of Kidney beans cooking to put in a soup. Well hope you are feeling more like yourself again soon. Hugs Carrie

  20. Our weather has been very much like Illinois this winter. Perhaps not as much snow, but plenty, plus quite cold. I was so hoping that your pain was becoming a thing of the past. Wish I was close enough, I'd be happy to clean your house.
The flooding in Australia doesn't sound good.
