Walking in the cemetery…

I am just home from a walk in the cemetery behind my house.  It is just beautiful there today, so peaceful, well except for a little dog that was being walked.  He yapped at me,  Reminded me of the mini pins I left when I moved here.
001
So lovely, nothing but peace here.
002
Everything is budding out and the shrubs are green.  The lilac bushes aren’t blooming yet but my Twin took a lovely picture of one for me.
004
Beautiful.
005
A wonderful day for a walk.
006I loved this one, not sure if the nickname was Spud or Smitty.  I am sure he knows.  Smile

This one is great, OLT as if to say, I had one life to live and I lived it the best way I knew how.

Click on the photos to make them larger.  I will be exploring a different part of the cemetery on my next walk
.
I also had my hair cut today, so for today, I am having a good hair day.  I hope you all are having one too.  The floor is all yours Boston.

Red heart  Beth

  1. Hi.. can't believe how things are blooming there already. The grass did green up some but no way the trees are that far along. We are lucky to see some crocus here and there.Enjoying the 64 degree weather here today, sure is welcomed after the winter. I got my hair cut a couple of weeks ago and am glad I did it.. I needed it done badly. Hope the rest of your week goes well : )

  2. Those are some very nice pictures of spring showing its face my friend! I often wished that I had time to take some pictures in the graveyards of Europe but never got to it. The only place I really did do this was in Japan and it was really interesting. Have a great rest of the week as well my friend!

  4. Hi Beth. Your lovely photos remind me that I should be making a trip to the Mt. Auburn Cemetery. This time I will take the tour. I know you've seen the pictures I have taken there but it's so huge that I know there are areas I haven't been to. The guided tour will point out the famous people buried there. So far I've only seen Longfellow and his family and Charles Merrium, the man who bought the publishing rights of Noah Websters dictionary. There are more.
The trees and plants are only just begining to sprout around here.
It's been a long day for me Beth I was down on Cape Cod for a family matter that I will reveal at a later date.
    Thanks for everything Beth.

  7. Looks like you had a beautiful day for a walk. Love all the pretty blossoms on the trees. We hardly have buds on the trees, here, yet. We have a ways to go, as it has been a cool spring, and hasn't got up to much more than in the 50's.
Have a great rest of the week Beth. It won't be long and it will be time for another weekend. I say, " Bring it on". :)

  9. Dear Beth,
Wonderful pictures of the beautiful greenery.
Where to my mother's grave, where we removed the winter wreath.
For Easter, I put down the daffodils.
But we have not come so far with the heat yet, but it will come.
Wish you a really nice day and a wonderful weekend!
    Take care
    Hugs Ann

  11. Yup, "spring has sprung, the grass is ris', I wonder where the flowers is." Our flowers are in bloom---I'm getting the camera out today for sure! Love your recording with Peggy Lee! That musical brings back memories---we did it in High School! Her voice reminds me of Doris Day's. Who is the guy who sings this on this recording??? Enjoy the day today!

  12. The cemetery my parents are in all have flat headstones. I know it's easier to maintain with them that way but it doesn't have the character that old cemetery's have. It's turned cold here again but at least the trees are telling us that warmer weather is ahead of us...I hope lol
    Have a great day!

  13. Looks like it was definitely a beautiful day. My grandparents had a cemetery across the road from their house. As a kid I used to enjoy walking through it and looking at names and dates on the headstones.

  18. Most excellent photos. For the same reason as I enjoy sitting by myself in cathedrals and churches, I like my walks through cemetaries. There is a very rare form of tranquility in cemetaries that is hard to find in other places.

  19. Hello Beth, Thanks for sharing these great photos. I really enjoyed them. The blossoms on the tress are so pretty. What a marvellous view you have from your home. Beth, at the risk of being stupid... What is the abbreviation "OLT?" One life time? Hugs, Kerrie
