Attention Stephanie Plum fans. Janet Evanovich’s first book in the Plum series is in the process of being made into a movie, estimated to be in theaters on 27 Jan 2012.
I read my first book in this series (Smokin’ Seventeen has just been released) shortly after Jim died. I remember that I would be crying while I was reading and then burst out laughing. Since that time I have read all 17 books. They are hilarious. Even though they are grossly over priced I still purchased 16 and 17 for my Nook. The first 15 I was able to check out through the library at home.

I am just home from getting my hair cut so it is nice and short and spikey again. Then I had to make a trip by the grocery store again as I forgot the milk yesterday. I rarely run out of milk because 1/2 gallon does me about 10 days. This time I did.
A bird has built a nest on the light fixture by the door that leads into our laundry area. My neighbors are thrilled about this and I will be thrilled with them so long as I don’t get caca dumped on my head as I am going in the door. After that I will cease to be thrilled. My new neighbors think it is barn swallows. I personally think the nest is too small for barn swallows, but then what do I know?

It is the middle of the week for you all that still have to work for a living. Do take the time to be happy.

I love the Stehanie Plum books. I better check with my daughter as she usually beats me to getting them, so I can read "Smokin' Seventeen". I see on fb where they just released the cover for the 18th book. I can't wait for the movie. They better do it justice.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of those books will have to check my library. I finally am doing a bit of reading again. I see things are still heated up around your area. I had frost last week at night. I'm not sure about the nest on the light barn swallows usually build their nests against the wall like a half nest. also aren't those scanners so great for puttin old photos into the computer. I also scan a bunch of papers when going south so I don't have to bring my whole file cabinet with me. Well hope it cools down a bit for you. Hugs Carrie
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of your flowers. Thanks for the review of the books. I will have to check them out.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the birds are barn swallows, but I never really know these things.
probably wrens...maybe sparrows. my helper sliced 6 tomatoes for me today. yummy! i had those and buttered brussels sprouts for lunch. i know, my brain must be addled!!

I've never even heard of that series but appreciate the heads up my friend. I'm no bird expert but know that we've had swallows that are actually quite aggressive about trying to build nests in our garage...that ceases to be cute and it just plain annoying. I hope you have no problems with that.
ReplyDeleteFor my Twin. Did you eat all 6 tomatoes today? That is really good for you! My first tomato is finally ripe enough to eat so I will be having that in a day or two.
ReplyDeleteFor Joe. I was less than thrilled when my next door neighbor pointed it out to me. I know for a fact that when a bird builds a nest somewhere, they will come back to that spot next year. I love birds but I don't think above the light fixture is the place for them.
ReplyDeleteBlessings.....
ReplyDeleteThanks for always ducking in and checking up on me....
where there is birds there will be caca, its inevitable.
Hi Beth looks as you say to be swallows up there , they tend to build their mud nests on walls or nice little cosy corners. You made me laugh when you said caca !!though yes you will indeed have plenty of that stuff. Rain here today again and cool. Hugs Sheila xx
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of that author. I will definitely check out these books. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
Nice to meet you thanks for stopping by :-)
ReplyDeleteNo bird nests, just the usual wasps. Sounds like good books. I love the funny ones.
