I breathed a sigh of relief…

because it is a little bit cooler today.  I had the front door screen opened for some fresh air.  Wonderful, and the temps for the rest of the week are to be in the low 80s.

I have done very well with the two potted tomato plants that I bought from Wal*Mart off the markdown rack in late June.  The plants are still loaded with lots of green tomatoes but they have quit making new blooms and are beginning to  look somewhat over the hill.

These are the tomatoes that I harvested yesterday.

It was a very quiet weekend.  I read most of a John Sandford book.  As soon as I finish all of the books that I have of his I will take them to the library to donate.  If you have never read any of his Lucas Davenport  (Prey Series) you are missing a lot.

I hope you all have a great week.  Stay safe and be happy!!

  1. Hi Sis..those tomatoes make me wish I had at least one in-the-pot kind this year, haven't so far had even ONE home grown one. Miss it a lot. Went out to our roadside stand and they won't have tomatoes until near the END of the month if you can believe that.I was in shock!
Yes indeed we may get a break in the air here too.lots cooler in the mornings and I can handle that just fine. Hope your week is a good one! <3

  2. Hi Beth!
What good is it with freshly picked tomatoes. On my balcony, I have not grown anything, it's because the balcony is so small.
    Have a nice week!

  5. What you need to do is slice a tomato, put a slice of fresh mozerella on top, fresh basil, then drizzle some olive oil. A perfect summer appetizer.

  6. The heat wave broke here and I got to go out and play! The forecast for the rest of the week even has upper 70s for highs a couple of days I may have to dig out a pair of long britches.

Frankie has a bell pepper patch planted in 4 pots on the patio. I get some strange looks from folks when I mention my wife's pot farm :-)

  10. We've been out and about so much over the summer that there's no fruit to show at all however our temps have been utterly fantastic both here and where we've gone over the last couple of months. Your tomatoes look great! I hope you're enjoying the fruit of your labor!
