It's that time of the year....

I would say…

it was a lazy Saturday morning except it is definitely not a lazy one.  I have changed the bed linen and I have the laundry in the dryer right now.  When I get the laundry finished I will do some  cooking.  Not sure what yet but the thought is there, fleeting though it may be.

My kids took me out for supper last night to the Rendezvous Café in Creve Coeur just a few miles down the road from me on the dreaded 29.  (I hate the traffic on that road).  I had a breaded pork tenderloin sandwich that was so large it could have used 3 buns.  I love a good tenderloin sandwich with lots of catsup and pickles.  This was a good one.

Would you believe I am still sorting through old photos.  The one posted below is of my kids when they were about 7 and 4 years old.  I absolutely adore this picture.  If I could pick a time in my life to go back to for a day I would pick this time in my life.

What I am having difficulty in figuring out is what happened to the years in between then and now.  It seems like only  yesterday.

I gotta go now as it is time for the dryer to shut off and for me to get busy in the kitchen.  I hope you all have a great weekend.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Red heart  Beth

  1. Good Morning Beth, You are way ahead of me this morning. Nice you got out with the kids, no matter their age. Love the photo and they sure do have a way of taking us back in time, and time sure does have a way of slipping by.

Have a wonderful day Beth. I am thinking we may take the cameras and go for a drive and see what we can find. Either way it is a beautiful sunny day here and they are calling for rain tomorrow so I must seize the day! :)

  3. Every time Frankie digs out her collection of shoe boxes full of prints we find ourselves asking the same question: where did all the years go?

  6. So Beth your kids took you out for supper at Rendezvous Café in Creve Coeur! Where's that? France!? Well pardon me while I play the Grand Piano! And how do you pronounce Creve Coeur?
OK. Apart from my nonesence above I don't think I have had a breaded tenderloin sandwich though I do like tenderloin and I have had a roast tenderloin on a bun. Hey remember that show fron the 60's with Fred MacMurray, My Three Buns?

  8. That is such a sweet picture. I love black and white photos. I have been feelig that way too about time just passing in a blink. I look at my 13 year-old daughter and wonder where has all the time gone. She is almost my hieght.I remind myself that I must treasure every minute and I do, but time keeps taunting me!
    Have a great Weekend Beth.

  9. Love it. The years in between do have a way for blurring. These pictures help jog the memories a little.

just stopped in to say hello. Lazy saturdays are ok in my book. Well laundry has to be done weekly, its a neccessary evil, if only one could afford to wear and throw away...sign, hehe, rediculous notion isn't it?

Wonderful your kids treat you to dinner, blesss their hearts.
