And the countdown is…

69!  Today has been another lovely sunny mild day.  It is 54 degrees, however the p**p will start to hit the fan tonight as we have a cold front coming through bringing a few inches of snow along with it.  If it is bad I just won’t go out tomorrow.

I have been to the doctor appointment this afternoon.  I am now the recipient of another new med.  After reading the side effects of it I don’t want to take it.  I really do like this doctor though and I guess I have to put my trust in him to know what he is doing.  I will have lab done in 1 week to see how this med is affecting my blood.  One lab after another, oh boy, can’t wait.

This is a quick update as for some reason I am worn out by todays events and I am longing to sit down and relax.  You all stay safe and be happy.

Beth

  3. Hi Beth, It's beautiful and sunny here today, but we may see our first snow flakes by Sunday. As far as meds go, sometimes the side effects are worse than what they fix. Good luck with yours.

  4. Sometimes I wonder if doctors are in cahoots with the drug companies using us as lab rats.
Here's my countdown, 9 hours till I have to get up for work.

  7. I work in medical records at the hospital here.....have for 11 years now. PLEASE don't just "trust" the doctor. You know your body better than the doctor. Yes, sometimes you need a new drug, but sometimes, it's that the drug company is giving samples out to the doctors and getting them to push them.

My own doctor nearly killed me 5 years ago by giving me a second blood pressure pill that I KNEW I didn't need. I took it because I felt like I needed to trust him. It lowered my blood pressure so much that I had to crawl on the floor to get to my hubby for help. I had absolutely no strength whatsoever!!! I never took another of those pills, stopped seeing that doctor, and my blood pressure has been fine on the water pills that I have taken for 10 years.

Another time when I went to the doctor because I was having chest pains and wanted to make sure I hadn't had a heart attack, they did blood work that came back normal. I knew it wouldn't come back normal if I had a heart attack because of what I had seen in charts. When the doctor told me she was sending me to the cath lab, I asked if she meant she wanted me to have surgery. She said yes. I said NO. She asked NO??? I reasserted NO. She then asked me if I wanted a "happy" pill.....she was a quack!!!

Just listen to your own body....if the pill makes you feel bad, DON'T TAKE IT. Then, or course, let the doctor know how you felt when you took it. I really believe a lot of doctors overmedicate.

  8. Yup! We went from low 50s to supposed to get down to 2 degrees tonight. The cold has returned, I guess.

Watch for side effects. I always do. If they bother me, I quit and let them know. I hope these don't cause you any trouble.

I hope you got some rest. You know how well I do after an outing--LOL! ;) Happy Thursday!

  10. Oh dear Beth, such conflicting problems here for you, I am sorry you're still on medication, and for your sake I hope it will'do the trick' but by the comments of some of your followers maybe you shouldn't take them OOO-er, decisions , decisions.
Anyhow, settling down with a good book can do wonders to a tired body, I hope you're feeling better by now.

  12. I personally know of three, yes, three of my friends who had horrible side effects from drugs they didn't need at all. Be careful. Gut feelings are best, just listen to your intuition.
Raining here and miserable, I'm looking forward to snow to clean up the ugly mud mess.
