Hooray!!!

55 days left on the countdown to Spring.  I am up (although not very early) and facing the day.  It is cloudy and 27 degrees today to warm up into the upper 30s.  I have one errand to run today and that is to the pharmacy.

I feel better today as the pain has shifted around to my shoulder and upper back area.   Another day of the heating pad I think.  Thank you  all for the kind thoughts after yesterday’s post.

Have any of you ever visited http://www.komando.com/columns/.  Kim has a column each week in the Peoria Journal Star.  She really has some helpful information in her column.  In fact the whole site is very interesting.  I was very interested in the column in last Sunday’s paper about timer programs.  I am always putting something in the oven or putting eggs on to boil, etc. and then sitting down at the computer and forgetting all about them.  I had a timer on my stove at home but there isn’t one on this one.  Kim suggested http://www.orzeszek.org/dev/timer/ and I will give it a try.

OK, I have used up my energy for the morning.  I am on my way to get the heating pad out.  I hope you all have a good day.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. This used up your energy for the day?? Did you eat something for breakfast? Try some Icy Hot on that shoulder and upper back. I was very surprised how much it helped my aching shoulder. You are in my prayers. Make sure you eat. :)

  2. If I had gone to work out, I'd be hauling out a heaty pad too. But mom has a lunch to go to..just a person she worked with..and then..she may go laters. Stay warm and 55 days is better than it was. xoxoxoxo Twin.

  3. I hope your pain eases up some. I've been in a real battle with a bone spur in my heel but have been walking through it each day. Today it feels much better and I'm thanking God for that. Fifties predicted for us with high winds...love the temps but I sure hate the high winds. Have a very blessed day Beth.

  5. It doesn't take much to use up the energy when your in pain. So hope the heating pad helps and your pain goes away. Upper 30's sound good but so ready for the 70's. Take care Beth. Hugs.

  6. This weather, being so weird, we really are not ready for cold to hit us so hard. Glad you are getting help with the meds and the heating pad. They work wonderful. Hugs!! : )

  7. I use a little digital kitchen timer. In fact I have several of them--LOL! I use them for cooking and baking, but I also use them all the time to keep me from doing activities for too long because I suffer so afterwards if I do. An hour at a time is about max for me. I'd be lost without them!

I hope your shoulder and upper back are better by now. Stay warm!! :)

  8. I listen to Kim on the radio. She is quite knowlegable.
Why can't you just buy an inexpensive timer at a department store or even a supermarket. I have one with magnets and it just sticks to the stove. No big whoop.

  11. Please visit my blog today as I have an award to present to you. Too bad we don't live closer - I'd join you with a heating pad day - I'm needing one myself.

  13. Oh dear Beth I'm sorry you're still feeling under the weather, it's extremely debilitating to have constant pain or discomfort, it's no wonder you run short of energy, Eating a banana is one good way of keeping the levels up, try another one say, mid afternoon. when you're sitting with your hot pad. 14. Sorry to hear of your constant pain Beth, I do love those heat pads , I had terrible backache a week or so ago. I wrapped it on the back for 8 hours a day for two days. Oh the relief was good. So I hope this gives you a relief from your pain.
    Hugs Sheila and Wile-e xx
