in store for most of the nation for the next week. Yesterday we had a thunderstorm with big booms that left us only a trace of rain. Then boom it was gone and the sun was out again. My WV sis reports massive power outages for several counties around them because of the tremendous thunderstorm that went through there Friday evening. Their roof was damaged and because of the widespread claims they won’t have an adjuster to check the damage until July 9th.
I am just back from visiting the fruit/vegetable stand . Below you see Georgia peaches and Arkansas tomatoes.
Don’t they look gorgeous. My two tomato plants are so stressed I doubt if I will get a tomato from them.
I hope today is a peaceful one for you all. Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
So sad hearing about all that damage and no let up in the heat. Don't think they will do very well without at least fans to help them keep cool. Everything here is so dried up..don't think our little market outside town will have much this year at all. Those tomatoes look wonderful..peaches too. I bet one has it's place on a BLT pronto!!Take care and stay cool.. XX00

I'm watering like crazy and it's not that hot here! We do have sandy soil that doesn't hold water very well. Stay cool.

Beautiful peaches and tomatoes! Our temperature yesterday was at an all-time high - 105 degrees! Today is expected to set a record for this date, too.
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Seems the evil heat that hit us in Texas last year is visiting the East coast this year. We're not sad that it didn't come back so far this year!
ReplyDeleteThe weather this summer has been something else, hasn't it. The tomatoes and peaches look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOur weather here is terrible too but I am starting to get a few tomatoes.

ReplyDeleteToday we were just one degree below 100 all day then a big thunderhead swept by...no rain but it cooled down about thirty degrees...I've got to say it feels great! Those peaches do look good. I really miss living next to the orchards like we did in Idaho.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't get a drop of rain up here. People are staring to worry about their wells running dry. I leave for Phoenix today, but it can't be much worse there!
