It was here…

and then it was gone.  We did get some rain yesterday afternoon.  Not much, about .10 inch.  Peoria and surrounding counties did much better than that.  It seemed like the rain headed over the top of us again like it had done all summer in the hit and miss showers.

This is what the sky looked like in the early afternoon.  A fairly good shower  and then nothing.  At least it cooled off some.

Stay safe and be happy!!

  7. It is crazy how these showers can be hit and miss. Yesterday afternoon I was home and the sun was out. 14 miles away my husband was in a heavy downpour for 40 minutes!!
Glad you got a little rain and it cooled things off a bit for you.

  8. I am glad you got some rain. We went weeks without rain but now have had three or four heavy downpours in the last couple of weeks- Sadly, too late to save most of the crops. xo Diana

  9. Same here Sweetie, we finally got the rain that we so needed. I woke to quite the dark sky and rain pouring down from the heavens. It was great! What a way to wake up. I threw opened my bedroom window, shut the ac off and crawled back into bed. Listened to the rain pound against the roof and sidewalk outside. The sound of the rain was like sweet music to my ears... cooled things down. Even today, the sun is shining bright, yet it is still cooler than we have had it in a long time. I hope it stays like this for a while.

  15. It has got to be disappointing to watch the rain clouds move over you without leaving much behind. We're having thundershowers this evening so I am trying to get my visits in before one begins in earnest.

Thank you for your visits to my corner. It's been a pleasure for me to visit here in yours.

  22. Glad it cooled down for you there, but I know you could use more rain. We had more here the last few days. Our grass is finally starting to look a little bit green again. That's a neat picture of the rain clouds.

  23. We'had a lot of skies like that but it just teased us with about 12 drops, then the heat was on again. The tree series of photos look like many trees in Arkansas. Our native oaks already have some kind of fungus called "oak decline" and the heat is putting a finishing touch on them. Aerial shots really show how we are losing our forest canopy of oaks. The so-called 'natural state' is losing some of its native attraction.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.
