complete with lots of lightning and thunder. And not realizing it was going to storm, I was out in it this morning, to the post office and the bank. I had a cup of tea with my daughter and then I headed home. Many of the streets are flooded. I would say that we are making that rain deficit of 6.9 inches shrink today by an inch or two.
And it is so dreary and dark outside that I have turned on several of the lights. I have got to have my light. I think I suffer from whatever that is that you have when you need to have it light. lol I can’t think of it now but I am sure I will think of it when I close this post.
What I don’t want to think of is the Cardinals letting the Giants beat them the last 2 games. Tonight it is do or die. The game will be in competition with the last political bunch of poopeydoop. (made up word from my own dictionary) Which do you think will pull in the highest rating? I am so sick of the negative ads and the phone calls. I will go vote however.
I hope you all have a good week. Stay safe and be happy!!
Prayers for Janice in California and my cousin Bryce in south central Missouri.
Beth
Wow I hate it when you have to drive in that downpour..makes it so hard. We passed several pretty bad accidents on Saturday here..people just don't watch what they are doing enough. Hope it has let up or passed by now. Seems it is headed our way in about 6 hours. I like the warm temps coming with it though. Hope your Cards win tonight..will be watching along to see what happens. Have a great week Sis.. :-)
ReplyDeleteSADD - seasonally affected depression disorder. :)
ReplyDeleteglad you made it home safely.
I wish it would rain here! I don't want to water the garden! I hope your Cardinals win ☺
ReplyDeleteWe had a big storm the other day too, I was stunned. I can't remember ever getting lightning, thunder and hail with heavy rain this late in the year. Our trees are looking pretty rough now and I expect most of the beauty of fall is done for another season. We vote absentee to avoid the crowds and such, it's worked well for us.
ReplyDeleteDon't like the rain, and don't like the cold, but unfortunately Beth we have to have them to appreciate the sunshine, I say that to help me feel better. and I too suffer in a mild way from SADD. not nice, Take care and turn on the lights. Love Arlene and Ruby XX
ReplyDeleteHello Beth, I've awarded you an friendship blog, go to my page and pick it up, well deserved.Arlene
ReplyDeleteHope your Cards win..I will check the paper to see tomorrow. I know how it is to root for the team you love. Mine gets beaten like an egg these days..so nothing to root for. :-) xoxox If we get to meet, I'll leave the perfume at home. :-)))
ReplyDeleteRooting for your Cards. Rain here to of course. Was outside with the puppy and big crack of thunder sent him hightailing for the door, lol. Poor little thing.
ReplyDeleteSurely the Giants won't win three in a row! I just wish the Cardinals could play at home for this last one.
ReplyDeleteWe have early voting here and have already voted.
Hope you are staying dry! xo Nellie
I will be voting in the morning if the weather is dry. I am not going out in pouring rain 2 days in a row. lol
DeleteBeth, Turn that tv off before you pull your hair out.LOL I hope your team wins girl. I am not liking the rain here today either...yes, I do remember how dry it was all summer. I just do not want all the pretty leaves to fall. Autumn is going fast. Can't believe it's the 22nd of Oct. Smiles, Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Beth
ReplyDeleteI like lots of light too, most of the lights in the flat go on at dusk and stay on until bedtime. SAD is the name you are looking for I think.
Hugs Nita
we need some of that rain here beth,,,
ReplyDeletehope it stops soon for you...
when it storms I always turn the lights on also...
I hope your week is a wonderful dry week hun...
love you,,, hugs
I heard the Cardinals lost last night. I will pull for them tonight.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are getting some rain. We had about an inch a couple of days ago and more predicted for later in the week.
I love you witch in the header!
Sounds like you are really getting hit with the rain. I'll be glad to have the political phone calls and ads over with too. I'm really sick of them.
ReplyDeleteI too put on lights of lights when its dreary out. : )
ReplyDeleteNo clouds or rain here today - a sunny day in the high 60's.
Love your header picture. I've seen a few of those around.
I would say that the debate will draw more people than the game.
Seems it either feast or famine with the rainfall the last few years.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and be happy too Beth. hug B
ReplyDeleteFall seems to bring us more rain than any time of year. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about not having sunshine - I'd rather have a sunny day any day then a raining one!
ReplyDeleteI need sunshine too! Rain makes me feel all sleepy and sad.
ReplyDeleteSending sunshine and hugs your way...

I just flipped over to the game. They are in the 5th.
ReplyDeleteTea with your daughter sounds good on a day like you've had. Have you used your cinnamon mug mats with a cup of hot tea yet?
Hello there! Jealous about your weather. The headlining pic made me burst out laughing. You have great decs. I love the wallpaper on your blog....it's the best holiday one out there. As for the political stuff, I'm ready for it to be over. We just voted and I want it done. Poopeydoop is right:)
ReplyDeleteHere's wishing you sunshine days! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I remember those Illinois rainstorms! Hopefully you didn't get any tornados along with the "gulley washer." I agree with you about both the Cardinals and Presidential debate. I've had my fill of the whole thing too, but like you, I will vote...in fact I already have. Enjoy the rain but stay dry!
ReplyDeleteI am reading this at 11 at night and had to look it up to see if your Cardinals won....it looks like the weather was crying for them. I'm so sorry they lost again tonight.
ReplyDeleteI was at work when both the game and the debate were going on. One of my co-workers wanted to turn on the debate to listen. I protested and told her we didn't need anything else to cause conflict with all of us in our department. They all fight like two year olds without anything to fight about....don't give them politics to fight over! She obliged and put on her headphones. I wonder how many people tuned in to listen.
Are you still have with heavy rain we having a about three month rain and still all the time.
ReplyDeleteOne think ok was we don't worry about our garden.
I hope you having a good day!
Thinking about you Beth!
Hi Beth..thank you for your prayers I just love you & I sadly just heard on the news the Giants took it (sorry). We had some horrible weather today an actual tornado in Cali?? I am so happy to finally get some rain but the winds are yucky...saying prayers for you BIG HUGS Beth!!
ReplyDeleteI watched the game ... what a disappointing end to the season.
ReplyDeleteWe had rain here but not nearly as much as you all did.
These dull and dreary days are tiresome , lucky we have had a few dry days here. As the garden was getting rather boggy..
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week Beth
Hugs Sheila xx
