Another gulley washer…

complete with lots of lightning and thunder.  And not realizing it was going to storm, I was out in it this morning, to the post office and the bank.  I had a cup of tea with my daughter and then I headed home.  Many of the streets are flooded.  I would say that we are making that rain deficit of 6.9 inches shrink today by an inch or two.

And it is so dreary and dark outside that I have turned on several of the lights.  I have got to have my light.  I think I suffer from whatever that is that you have when you need to have it light.  lol  I can’t think of it now but I am sure I will think of it when I close this post.

What I don’t want to think of is the Cardinals letting the Giants beat them the last 2 games. Tonight it is do or die.  The game will be in competition with the last political bunch of poopeydoop.  (made up word from my own dictionary)  Which do you think will pull in the highest rating?  I am so sick of the negative ads and the phone calls.  I will go vote however.

I hope you all have a good week.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Prayers for Janice in California and my cousin Bryce in south central Missouri.

Beth

  1. Wow I hate it when you have to drive in that downpour..makes it so hard. We passed several pretty bad accidents on Saturday here..people just don't watch what they are doing enough. Hope it has let up or passed by now. Seems it is headed our way in about 6 hours. I like the warm temps coming with it though. Hope your Cards win tonight..will be watching along to see what happens. Have a great week Sis.. :-)

  4. We had a big storm the other day too, I was stunned. I can't remember ever getting lightning, thunder and hail with heavy rain this late in the year. Our trees are looking pretty rough now and I expect most of the beauty of fall is done for another season. We vote absentee to avoid the crowds and such, it's worked well for us.

  8. Rooting for your Cards. Rain here to of course. Was outside with the puppy and big crack of thunder sent him hightailing for the door, lol. Poor little thing.

  9. Surely the Giants won't win three in a row! I just wish the Cardinals could play at home for this last one.

We have early voting here and have already voted.

Hope you are staying dry! xo Nellie

I just do not want all the pretty leaves to fall. Autumn is going fast. Can't believe it's the 22nd of Oct. Smiles, Susie

  11. Hi Beth

I like lots of light too, most of the lights in the flat go on at dusk and stay on until bedtime. SAD is the name you are looking for I think.

  14. Sounds like you are really getting hit with the rain. I'll be glad to have the political phone calls and ads over with too. I'm really sick of them.

  15. I too put on lights of lights when its dreary out. : )
No clouds or rain here today - a sunny day in the high 60's.
Love your header picture. I've seen a few of those around.
I would say that the debate will draw more people than the game.

  20. I just flipped over to the game. They are in the 5th.

Tea with your daughter sounds good on a day like you've had. Have you used your cinnamon mug mats with a cup of hot tea yet?

  23. Yes, I remember those Illinois rainstorms! Hopefully you didn't get any tornados along with the "gulley washer." I agree with you about both the Cardinals and Presidential debate. I've had my fill of the whole thing too, but like you, I will vote...in fact I already have. Enjoy the rain but stay dry!

  24. I am reading this at 11 at night and had to look it up to see if your Cardinals won....it looks like the weather was crying for them. I'm so sorry they lost again tonight.

I was at work when both the game and the debate were going on. One of my co-workers wanted to turn on the debate to listen. I protested and told her we didn't need anything else to cause conflict with all of us in our department. They all fight like two year olds without anything to fight about....don't give them politics to fight over! She obliged and put on her headphones. I wonder how many people tuned in to listen.
