Taken the day we moved from Missouri to Illinois. I am the little girl with the striped shirt in the front row. Four of my sisters and two of my brothers are in the picture. Rae is the baby being held in her aunt’s arm and my youngest brother was born in Illinois. Rae and I are the only ones still living in the picture.

ReplyDeleteYou were an adorable little girl. What a wonderful family!
ReplyDeleteTimes looked so hard then - but I think it is just the black and white. You know. Nice family, but I am sad so many have gone.
ReplyDeleteWay cool picture! Love those old pics---have two of my Mom and her brother when her family homesteaded in Canada back in the 1920's. In fact she was born in Canada (although still a US citizen. We need to preserve these photos for future generations! Thanks for sharing this one with us!
ReplyDeleteLooking at your photo reminded me of my family. You and I are from the same era I'm sure. Love those old photos and we don't have any anymore. Our basement was flooded about 30 years ago and the photos stored in an army trunk got all wet. We tried to preserve them, but it didn't work. So I greatly admire the old photos of others.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great to have those old pictures-I can't wait to get into those containers FULL of them.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend.

Such a treasure to have this picture. I follow Connie's Forgotten Old Photos blog. She always suggests making a copy of an old photo and writing the names on the individuals for future generations.

ReplyDeleteIn regard to the comment that you left on my blog:
Dear Beth, I'll just bet that you don't realize just how very talented you are. Ask some of your loved ones . . . what talents you process and then believe them when they tell you . . . how very amazing you are :)
Our dear Lord creates beautifully . . . and He created you . . . beautiful, talented, and amazing :)
Have a glorious day.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
