What flavor would you like…

We have chocolate, chocolate mint, strawberry, cherry, orange, lime and bubblegum.  These are the flavors I could choose from yesterday for the polish that they use on your teeth after they are cleaned.  Is it any wonder that a visit to the dentist costs a fortune?  I usually choose mint but this time I chose chocolate, just to see what it would taste like.  Well, it does taste like a gritty chocolate, not as satisfying as a Snickers bar though.

I have a tooth that has been giving me twinges every now and then.  I am going  to have a crown put on that tooth.  Oh yippee!  The price per crown is $910 plus X-rays.

It is sunny here today and the temp has climbed to 38 degrees.  Cold wave still to come on Monday along with another doctor appointment.  I would rather have cold than ice though.   If I had my druthers though I would rather have 70 degrees and sunshine.  My daddy always said want in one hand and poopiedoop in the other and see which one gets full first.  I swear he really did say that.  My dad was never one to use swear words and that is about as  ornery as his speech got.  lol

I have been to Walmart this morning to spend a few dollars.  Seems I  am not happy if I don’t buy something wherever I go.  I needed minutes for my cell phone, etc.  When I moved here I gave up my cell phone service with AT&T and bought a tracfone.  I have unlimited calling through my cable company and I was using maybe 1 or 2 minutes a month on my cell phone.

I hope you all have a great weekend.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  2. I would have picked mint for the mouth - although I love chocolate. That is a lot of $$$!

  10. I agree mint...I probably would have gone for chocolate mint. Vanilla mint would have been acceptable, too. Good grief, what happened to a "fresh" taste. At least you got it done for awhile!

  11. Hi Beth,

This would be good for Zac, who cannot stand the taste of mint and hates cleaning his teeth, with mint toothpaste. It seems to be all that is on offer, apart from a strawberry one for babies

  15. Yikes, crowns are expensive..believe me, I know. I have several. I didn't comment yesterday but totally agree with you about robocalls. We put our number on the "do-not-call list" a few years back when some law was passed about it. Since then, we actually get a lot MORE robo and sales calls. Hope you have a good weekend.

  16. My hubby needs dental work now...waiting on being able to borrow from my 401k in a few weeks...dread hearing what the cost will be...there goes our roof fund!

  17. I don't think our dentist has chocolate flavored, but I've had some of the others. Going to the dentist is always expensive, it seems. I'd rather have 70 and sunny too, but that isn't going to happen here for quite a while! :) Have a nice weekend!

  18. Yikes Beth. That's a lot to pay for a crown. I'm so spoiled because I kept the dental insurance from where I worked. It has saved us bundles, although our co -pays are getting heftier! Feel for you dear friend.

  19. Well! I have never been given a choice at the dentist's office! I wonder if there is even one available. Hmm....
Too bad about needing a crown. They are expensive, that's true.

Take care of yourself, Beth! xo Nellie

  20. Hi Beth! I dislike going to the dentist for ANY reason, and of course especially the expensive times. My husband and I have both done without dental work many times when we didn't have any dental insurance.
I LOVE your Daddy's sayings! Very cute!
    Have a great weekend!

  21. I like your daddy's saying. :0) I hate going to the dentist and I need to go. I'm afraid of what I might need done. If I have a choice of flavors I think I'll choose mint.

  22. If I had the choice I would choose 'mint'. I like going to dentist, always did. I must be rare.
    Hope you have good weekend.

  23. I'm scheduled for a 6 mo. cleaning and am thinking about calling in "sick" because I don't have the $250 it will cost and I only have 6 teeth on the top and 11 on the bottom! Your dad's saying is funny!

  24. When I was a little girl, we didn't have toothpaste, as it was deemed unnecessary by my mother, so we used soot and salt, I, at 75, have all but one of my teeth, so maybe there was something in the old method. That is a lot of money for a crown.

  25. Yes, the going rate for crowns these day is about a thousand bucks a pop. And does this include the root canal that you'll probably also get before the placement of the crown?
