Clarification…

To begin with I didn’t wake up Sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn’t hurt.  That is the first line of the song  ‘Sunday Morning Coming Down’ written by Kris Kristofferson and a smash hit for Johnny Cash.  I keep forgetting that not everyone is a Johnny Cash fan.  I do thank you all for the well wishes though.

It is starting out to be a lovely day.  The sun is shining brightly and the temp is to reach into the 60s today.  What a treat that will be.  It will help to melt down some of those mountain high dirty snow piles around here.  I am planning a trip to Costco this morning to see what they have new for spring.

And speaking of spring, it is only 9 more days till the first day of spring.  Yesterday I saw a woodpecker and several sparrows and a couple of black birds, all hovering in the front yard on some bare spots where the snow has melted.  The squirrels in the front yard have gotten really skinny over winter too and they were digging trying to find their buried acorns.

I am stalled on the spring cleaning simply because I don’t want to do it.  When it dries up outdoors perhaps I will get back in the mood.  For now I just want to go outside and shout at the top of my lungs that I have survived this record breaking winter.  That said I just bet that we have some more snow starting tomorrow night into Wednesday morning.  No, I don’t have to bet on that as that is what the weather person has predicted.

I hope your week is great.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Beth, I know that tune, girl. Remember I told you my parents loved that country music. :):) I know what you are saying about big dirty snow piles. I told Ted, look at your squirrel feeder...a squirrel was sitting on it and running his little paws along the corn cob...not a kernel left for him. So Ted is out there now putting out some corn . Hope you have a fun day today. I am praying we do not get that snow, that I saw them talking about this morning on the today show. Blessings, xoxox,Susie

  4. Perhaps if we all hog-tie the weathermen we can get some spring going. I am impressed that there are bare spots in your yard. There are none here yet! Have a fun time shopping...

  9. I'm very fond of Johnny Cash, and I like that particular song. It's warm and sunny today. I have the back door open so the dogs can run in and out.

    Love,
    Janie

  12. Yes! With a high of near 70 degrees today, there will be wintry precipitation Wednesday into Thursday here. Surely it won't amount to much. xo Nellie

  13. We've got the same forecast for Wed. going into Thurs. It'll hit 50 on Tues. and snow Wed. night. Well I haven't really started Spring cleaning yet except I did spend a couple of hours shredding lots of papers. My how they build up?

  14. I like to hear Johnny Cash. He really has a neat voice and unique style. For some reason most of us can identify with his messages. Get ready for a happy Springtime, Beth. Enjoy. Bertie

  17. I knew this song--yes! Nice to hear it again.
We've had warm days for three days now! But I have no doubts that we will have more snow before true spring. I'd be shocked if we didn't. But splashy, wet days are so nice!! :)
