on their birthday. My sister Chris was born on my daddy’s birthday and she was always so proud of that fact. Chris and my dad have been gone a long time but I still miss them both. Nobody in this world ever called me Boogie but my daddy. And now you must all forget that I ever wrote that name down. lol
Not a very good picture of my dad but it shows what he was, an honest man who never pretended to be anything else. I never saw him in any clothing except bib overalls and grey work shirt except at weddings or funerals. Happy Birthday Daddy! I miss you!
I have been searching for the last hour trying to find a separate pic of my sister Chris with no luck. Chris is second from the left and I am on the far right. This is the only pic I have that was taken with my 4 sisters when we were adults. Rae who is next to me in the pic is my only remaining sister. Happy Birthday Chris. I miss you!
I hope we all have a good week!
Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth

ReplyDeleteLovely photos and tribute.
ReplyDeletePleased to know you are ok.
I don't know who the photographer was for the five sisters pic, but what great composition. The interconnection is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteA loving tribute to two very special people who will always be with you.
How wonderful that you have a picture of all of your sisters together! April is a special birthday month here, too. Hugs to you, Beth, as you remember your sister and your father today. xo Nellie

ReplyDeleteThis was a very touching post Beth. What a wonderful photo. I hope you don't mind me taking a copy. Even if I didn't know you I would like the picture.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you weren't part of the awful weather that's happening in your part of the country. Quite scary!
You are certainly welcome to a copy of the pic! Will you use it for target practice?? :-)

ReplyDeleteI love that you shared these family pictures with everyone. Those memories are dear to you and isn't it wonderful to think about those family members we miss with such love. Beautiful post Beth!
ReplyDeletesweet, beautiful and a lil sad!!! you are lucky to have so many sisters!!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely memories- my Dad was like yours, plain, honest and hardworking - always in a plaid shirt and jeans. I am one of 5 girls, too (the eldest). It's so hard when they leave us - a little tug on the heartstrings on days like birthdays. Or even ordinary days. I know they are looking down on you and watching over you. xo Karen
ReplyDeleteInteresting post. My sister died on my dads Birthday she was hit by a car and died on the spot. So my dad for many years could not even mention her name or celebrate his birthday. My other brothers held her in their arms so her last words were give my love to Mom. So the boys along with family could not celebrate nether one birthday. Beautiful sisters. Nice memories .
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have those pictures to remember them. Today is the 20th anniversary of my first son's death due to a car accident on his way home from work. The pain still lingers but the recollection of better times lives on. Pictures trigger the good memories of loved ones.
ReplyDeleteHappy memories. It must have been so nice to have 4 sisters.
ReplyDeleteI'm an only child and would have loved that!!
Dear Beth, I am sending you hugs. I know you miss your loved ones. Were there only you girls? or do you have brothers also? It's good your father wore what he liked. . Blessings, xoxo,Susie

Your father looks like a nice man. My dad and both of my grandpas always wore bibs. They were farmers and they dressed the part. What a great picture of you and your sisters. I bet you had a ton of fun together. Nice tribute.
