Remembering my dad and my sister…

on their birthday.  My sister Chris was born on my daddy’s birthday and she was always so proud of that fact.  Chris and my dad have been gone a long time but I still miss them both.  Nobody in this world ever called me Boogie but my daddy.  And now you must all forget that I ever wrote that name down.  lol

Daddy2

Not a very good picture of my dad but it shows what he was, an honest man who never pretended to be anything else.  I never saw him in any clothing except bib overalls and grey work shirt except at weddings or funerals.  Happy Birthday Daddy!  I miss you!

I have been searching for the last hour trying to find a separate pic of my sister Chris with no luck.  Chris is second from the left and I am on the far right.  This is the only pic I have that was taken with my 4 sisters when we were adults.  Rae who is next to me in the pic is my only remaining sister.  Happy Birthday Chris.  I miss you!

I hope we all have a good week!

Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

I'm glad you weren't part of the awful weather that's happening in your part of the country. Quite scary!

  16. Such lovely memories- my Dad was like yours, plain, honest and hardworking - always in a plaid shirt and jeans. I am one of 5 girls, too (the eldest). It's so hard when they leave us - a little tug on the heartstrings on days like birthdays. Or even ordinary days. I know they are looking down on you and watching over you. xo Karen

  17. Interesting post. My sister died on my dads Birthday she was hit by a car and died on the spot. So my dad for many years could not even mention her name or celebrate his birthday. My other brothers held her in their arms so her last words were give my love to Mom. So the boys along with family could not celebrate nether one birthday. Beautiful sisters. Nice memories .

  18. So glad you have those pictures to remember them. Today is the 20th anniversary of my first son's death due to a car accident on his way home from work. The pain still lingers but the recollection of better times lives on. Pictures trigger the good memories of loved ones.

  22. Your father looks like a nice man. My dad and both of my grandpas always wore bibs. They were farmers and they dressed the part. What a great picture of you and your sisters. I bet you had a ton of fun together. Nice tribute.
